Great glove

One thing to note is that they did take a while to break in, so don't send them back until you've given them some miles. They do give me a lot more confidence lowering heavier people, rapping fast, and catching lead falls, plus they keep your hands clean. Still nimble enough to tie shoes, tie in, open a powerbar wrapper, whatever. Only drawback is that they are a bit tricky to take off (I use my teeth). Good choice.

My Safety First

By:

Great dexterity, tight fitted gloves. Im health care professional. Sometimes during mountaineering and hiking trips m faced with accidents which require medical treatment. Its good to wear The Metolius Climbing Glove ¾ Finger to protect my hands from abrasion and some other soft tissues injuries in summer. I never wish it, but Im able to help other team members in medical issues right along.

Solid flexibility

By:
September 22, 2006

Manages friction heat nicely without losing grip. Responsive to tightening and loosening. After a about three weeks of nearly daily use, they come off easily and really fit my hands. The large really is large, but snug at first. Have not had to remove them to make or undo knots and connections yet. Like the ends of my fingers out, and the length does not cause any finger binding, like can happen with bike gloves.

Excellent gloves

Outstanding gloves for all around, temperate weather use. I use these hiking through dense brush, moderate climbing, various lifting, PT, and at the rifle range.

Aid Climbing

By: Backcountry.com Employee

The design and function are good. Great durability on the palm for belaying/rappelling. These will break your bank for aid climbing if you do it often. Mine got quite trashed after only a few walls. My $10 goat skin gloves from Wally World have lasted much longer and did the job just as well. They work fine but won't last long and are way too expensive.

I like these for use in the summer when it is super hot out here in Utah. I love the added safety it provides my leader. Keeps the mitts free of that rope gunk build up.
