The Merrell Men’s Snowmotion 6 Boot packs mountain-ready performance into mid-top design that won’t look out of place around town. Thanks to PrimaLoft insulation and an ActiveHeat insole, this Merrell boot keeps your foot comfortable down to -25F. The Snowmotion 6 Boot includes a combination of dual-density TPU and waterproof leather to make the upper ultra tough. A Vibram sole and stout construction helps this shoe easily handle a snowy day on the trail.

Are these too warm for summer hiking at lower elevations?

Much. Merrell makes much more suitable boots for warmer climates (Moab Ventilator), this one will just get you sweaty.

I really found the snowmotion 6 boots very comfortable to wear. I took them to Israel and walked in the sand on the beach of the Mediteranean Sea and also in the hills of Galilee. Also, when I returned to the US and snow, they kept my feet dry and gave me good traction. They performed beyond my expectation. I highly recommend these shoes.

The boots are very nice. But because of insulation, these need to be ordered at least a half size larger than what you normally wear.

Awesome boot. Warm, comfy, lightweight. Fits to the foot nicely. The traction is great, no complaints whatsoever. Highly recommended to any adventurer.
