Merrell Chameleon Wrap Mid Gore-Tex Hiking Boot - Men's - 2007

The Merrell Men's Chameleon Wrap Mid Gore-Tex Hiking Boot eliminates the need to change your shoes with the barometric pressure. This waterproof breathable boot responds to variations in the weather and the trail and leaves your feet unscathed after a demanding day hike. The combination of waterproof pigskin leather uppers and Gore-Tex linings guarantees your feet won't feel a drop of soak-through while you trek through sopping wet underbrush. Breathable mesh panels keep your dogs supplied with fresh air while blocking the entrance of water and trail debris. The shoe fanatics at Merrell constructed the Chamelons with a grippy Vibram sole with big, angled lugs in a multi-directional pattern (read: increased downhill braking). They also added a supportive, compression-molded EVA footbed and TPU instep stability.

Too heavy for a day hiking boots

They are mid-high cut boots- I didn't read the small writing and ended up returning them. They are not as high support boots as I wanted. Also they felt narrower than my other Merrells. Weight is also on the heavier side for the intended use of light weight day hiking. I think these boots are long overdue from overhaul.

these were by far the worst pair of boots i have ever owned. uncomfortable hiking in them, the insole was sliding back and forth, like the boots were the wrong size, but they weren't. i have bought a lot of boots and know what size to get. i will never buy another pair of Merrells again, complete JUNK. I'm surprised this site would sell this kind of product, may think twice if this is what's to be expected when buying from your website.

I was pretty happy with these boots. They are a little heavy but I found them to be supportive enough for day long hikes with a medium weight pack. the Gore-Tex was top notch, kept my feet totally dry while navigating thru ankle high streams, very impressive. The traction was also great even when wet
