most everything Maui Jim makes can have a prescription put in it, but the Maka happens to be one of the exceptions....sorry.

Sunglasses were a gift for my wife who has a medium sized faced. She had her 1st pair of Maka's stolen and tried a number of technical brands, none fitting or perforning as these Maui Jim. We spend our leisure time on our boat. Lens quality for very sunny, bright conditions is superb, only comparable to Costa del Mar, for long hours of exposure to sun, ocean water and brightness. Lens size, completely encompassing eyes (wrap around) as well as continuous over nose bridge, minimizes glare and elements e.g. water, dust, sand. Rims are a bit on the heavy side (metal) but nose guards are very comfortable so weight is not a major factor when wearing. Sunglasses can be dressed up or used for technical applications such as days on the ocean. The main drawback is that this particular style is very hard to find...it took us days of store searches until we finally found it online at Backcountry! Should of known to come here first.
