My favorite summer bag!

It isn't anything fancy but it gets the job done. I have a lot of other bags with the same temperature rating but this is the one I always snag on my way out the door. It keeps me plenty warm and it has plenty of leg room (I am 6'2" and wear a size 13 shoe so it is having room to move in the rectangular bag). I tossed it in the wash one day and someone sent it through the dryer on high heat (if you don't know that will destroy a sleeping bag however it somehow held up and keeps me just as warm). It has been through some serious abuse and it just wont stop kickin'. I have been using it for 3 plus years with no complaints.

"zip it together with your schmoopy's" - very funny. This is a left-zip only bag. Can two bags be zipped together? Maybe by using one of them bottom-up, but are they designed to be used that way (i.e. are they symmetric with regards to a horizontal plane)? The manufacturer's page (http://marmot.com/spring_2008/equipment/sleeping_bags/synthetic/trestles_40_full_rec_reg/details) is even less useful.There's a "2008 update" version of this bag at http://www.backcountryedge.com/marmot-trestles-40-08.aspx, and that comes in left-zip and right-zip configurations, which leads me to believe that the version featured on this page is not likely to mate with another one of its kinds unless you turn one over, which apparently is not recommended.

Ironically, I already have two other bags, and only bought two of these so that I could zip them together on a camping trip I took last year with my wife. It was her first overnight trip with me and the dog and it was 5 nights... needless to say, rain, wind, etc. for the duration of the trip. I only bought them because they were light, square "and could be zipped together". My fault for not testing it out before we left, because as the last person stated, they do not zip together and are only left zip. Bummer. She didn't feel much like snuggling with me on this trip anyway! As a single bag, it was a little pricey for the weight, but it was adequate to help keep me warm at temperatures that because of wind and rain were well below 40 degrees. Maybe it was the dog...
