The Marmot Tamarack Jacket for women features clean, spartan lines that hide its true identity. Here's a nice concept: A waterproof, breathable shell you can use for skiing, hiking, climbing, or as a rain jacket for a miniscule price. Marmot's proprietary MemBrain fabric is constructed with a waterproof, breathable laminate that simply won't let moisture in and still lets sweaty vapor out. The Tamarack is micro-stitched and fully seam-taped to boot. Don't mistake its no-nonsense design for no-style, ergonomic lines from overlain reinforcing fabric, low-bulk Velcro cuffs, and a zip stash pocket on the upper arm mark the Tamarack as distinctly modern. And its women-specific cut fits comfortably and allows free movement. Great for skiing, the Tamarack has a flex powder skirt, a zip-off hood with one-hand drawcord, and underarm zip vents that extend into the body for maximum venting. It also has CoolMax lining that helps with moisture control when you're exercising hard. Zip-in the Windy Ridge Fleece Jacket for a winter layering system that can't be beat.
So, the Oceana color is absolutely beautiful. The online description holds true to form as its subtle design screams understated. Requires multiple layers to stay warm in driving snow. The hand pockets are somewhat awkward to negotiate as they are higher up and closer in than you would anticipate when shoving your hands in for warmth. Double zippers, nice fabric, inside extras and Marmot reputation.
