The Marmot Girls' PreCip Jacket provides mountain-ready weather protection to your little one on the trail, in camp, or at the bus stop. Fully seam-taped, waterproof breathable PreCip material fights off the nastiest rain without so much as a second thought. Marmot gave the PreCip Jacket pitzips to help your girl keep from overheating on a day hike. High hand pockets remain accessible, even under a pack, so first-time hikers never have a hard time getting to an energy bar or Chapstick.
Bottom Line: Give your girl the weather protection she needs with the Marmot PreCip Jacket.
Researched a lot of coats for my under age 6 girls that would keep them dry in the downpours we get caught in going to school. So far these have been great. Very light so they can be stuffed in a bag and layered over winter coats if it rains. Have kept them dry in downpours - the water just rolls off. I think the cheaper coats let water in around the seams. We've only been using them a month but so far I'm very happy with them. Size XS fits my 4 year old and S for my tall 6 year old.
It states in the description that this has pit zips, but in the details area it says no core venting. Also, one reviewer stated that it doesn't have them. Does anyone know for sure?
The Marmot size chart doesn't include dimensions for the XS size; can you tell me what those are? It sounds like this item runs large (from one of the reviews); is taht so? THX
the2532531,You're right, this Marmot jacket is a little longer than the standard sizes specified in the size chart. XS= 23 1/2" sleeve (measured from center back, top to bottom of sleeve)31" chest23 1/2" waist19.5" Center back length32" circumference of bottom hem before cinching.
The jacket hasn't been tested in a downpour, but has worked very efficiently in moderate rain. Nice fit, great color, nice styling. Great hood. I highly recommend it.
I often get kid's clothes because they fit me quite well (I'm 5'7" and 130lbs). However, with this jacket, I ordered the size that matched me on the size chart and it was enormous~ both long and around! Also, it does not have pit zips as advertised. However, it was fabulously light and I've gone ahead and re-ordered in a women's size that should fit better. Also to note, the azalea color is very pink (more like a medium bubblegum than fuschia).
