Marmot Power Stretch Half-Zip Fleece Jacket - Men's

Pull the Marmot Men's Power Stretch Zip Top Jacket over your base layer for a little non-restrictive insulation and head out for that Technicolor autumn hike. Marmot made the Power Stretch Zip Top Jacket with stretchy Polartec Power Strech fleece, which retains warmth without restricting movement so you can hike, climb, or scramble in comfortable warmth. Zip the collar all the way up when the chill sets in or bust the zipper open for a little extra ventilation. Stash your smaller items in the zippered chest pocket and get rid of that nose-cicle with the nose wipe on the cuff. Flat-lock seams make for seamless, non-bulky layering under a shell.

Bottom Line: The Marmot Power Stretch Zip Top Jacket provides warmth without holding you back.

Good layering piece.

By:

Great jacket as the other reviews suggest. Warm and athletic fit, medium fits a 6' 180lb man well.

However,
Backcountry - you need to get your act together with your product photographs. As another reviewer mentioned, the contrasting white stitching on the black jacket is nonexistent. This is the second time I've ordered gear from you that arrived looking completely different from the photograph. You might as well not offer photos if the colors are this far off.

Favorite layering piece

Comfortable. Warm. Stylish. Got rained in at Hobbs Cabin at Savage gulf for 2 days in 15 degree weather. Stayed snug inside in this and a pair of power stretch pants. Favorite jacket easy.

The small should fit you well. I am about the same height as you but weigh only 125lb and I have ample space to layer an Icebreaker 260 below it.

super fleece

By:
October 9, 2009

This fleece is light, warm and great for climbing. I'm 6'6", 195 lbs, +2 ape index, so usually nothing fits me, but the XL, other than being a little wide has the perfect length sleeves. I've owned other fleeces before and the fit with this one is the best I can hope for without going custom.

Comfy and effective

By:
September 15, 2008

The Power Stretch is undoubtedly the most comfortable piece of gear I own. It is super soft and fuzzy on the inside but still does its job of blocking light wind and keeping me warm on chilly evenings. It does stretch admirably and does not restrict movement.
I'm 5'9" and 135. I got a medium and the fit is pretty good but a small would be a better fit for torso length and around the chest. It fits under my Arcteryx Epsilon SV but not very well with my MH Alchemy. Overall, a great midlayer, perfect alone for fall days and under a shell in the winter.

Great Piece

By:
June 1, 2009

This is a great layering piece. The Polartec material in this is super warm and cozy. The 4-way stretch that it offers is superb. I usually wear this with a light wicking baselayer underneath and my MHW WindStopper vest if it's pretty nippy outside (20's-30's) and I'm going a long way. It isn't the most packable piece, down or a synthetic like Primaloft would offer more warmth and pack down smaller, but if space isn't a worry then this is the piece I will go with.

very nice...

By:

Got this for my fiance and he pretty much lives in it. I have a similar model that is full zip that I just love. Only complaint is that it could be a little longer in the torso for tall guys. Warmer than you guess!!

Power Stretch is Awesome!

By:
March 23, 2009

I searched this out because I love Power Stretch and the few I have (which must be 10 years old now) were starting to look, well, not new. I really like the Marmot. It is heavier than my others and won't bridge seasons as well, but I've sure used it a lot this winter. The long sleeves are especially welcome as I have long arms and hate a gap at the wrist.

Comfortable and warm

By:
December 23, 2008

I where this as a second layer for skiing. Works great. It is very comfortable. Can even work as your only layer for other activities. The only complaint I have is cosmetic. The turtle neck sags when zipped up all the way. Makes you look like you have a spare tire around your neck.

I have a couple of these and they are great as a primary layer under a shell for skiing. They do fit a full size smaller than marked compared to other brands, but they stretch well and do not feel restrictive. More of an issue regarding how it drapes on your body.
Seams are smooth and nothing catches or rubs.

Arc'Teryx knows how to keep you warm.

The Power Stretch Zip Top Pocket Jacketis my favorite jacket to take rock climbing since it keeps the cold off you and breaths enough to keep you from getting too hot. It also will stretch with you when you need to make tha leap to the next finger hold.
