How well do these repel snow and wind? I am looking to use them

How well do these repel snow and wind? I am looking to use them as an active-wear pant for snowshoeing with an insulated pant for breaks and in camp.

I bought these as a mid-layer to wear under my shell pants. I liked the idea of 3/4 not interfearing with the boots.
They look, fit and feel nice. However, they were not warm enough, and after awhile the cuffs started bothering me.
hey also showed very visible wear after only one day of sking.
I'm planning to send them back.
