Marmot Matterhorn 30 Backpack - 1850cu in

Marmot made the Matterhorn 30 Backpack tough enough to handle serious days in the mountains and threw in all the features you need for a technical ascent. Backpackers and alpinists alike appreciate the bomber materials and simple-but-versatile design.

  • Removable pad for bivies
  • Air Comfort back panel to allow air flow in hot conditions
  • Waist-mounted gear loops hold your gear for climbing
  • Pocket flap system caries ice tools while keeping picks covered
  • Haul loops for trailing your bag on crux pitches
  • Removable frame sheet to shave weight

Bottom Line: Tough as a pack should be.

Not a question specifically about this pack. I'm looking for a new daypack, 30-40L, that is both hydration system ready and has mesh side pouches for 1L water bottles. A 3 pocket system would be nice: a lower one for wet clothes/shoes, a main compartment with side access, and a pocket in the lid. It needs to be compactable, preferrably in its own lid, so I can store it in my kayak hatch for kayak to hike day trips. And it needs to fit my 6'3", 235lb frame. Does this backpack exist?

Check out, Arc'teryx Cierzo 35 Backpack. That is one that with some research you can fill although the side pouches will be hard to find...
