Marmot Logan Jacket - Men's - 2006

The Marmot Men's Logan Jacket provides you with a waterproof breathable shell, zip-out softshell liner jacket, and a removable hood to match nearly any cold, wet weather. Put all the components of this Marmot jacket together for catching the first chair on a frigid December ski day, or strip to the softshell liner jacket when you're hiking in the fall. This completely seam-taped Marmot jacket gets the job done for skiing, mountaineering, winter camping, spring hiking, and just about everything else you could need a jacket for.

Bottom Line: Saying the Marmot Logan Jacket is versatile is like saying the sun is kind of bright.

Marmot Logan Jacket

Excellent. I already wore it in arctic cold, snow, sleet & rain in the north east. Works like a charm.

Sweet but with minor flaws

By:
October 20, 2008

This jacket is pretty sweet, although I haven't worn the outer shell in any conditions that were rough or would challenge it in any way. Yes the liner's sleeves are tapered too much, making it hard to remove the ends of the sleeves past your wrist. Also, the underarm zippers for the outer shell are bulky and make it a little awkward when wearing around just the shell. I haven't any zipper problems but I've only worn the jacket in casual settings.

Best Jacket Ever!!

By:
March 19, 2007

This jacket is one of the best jackets that I have ever owned. I have Marmot's Oracle and the name Marmot is def. earning its reputation. The logan is a great jacket for the price. The liner is very light and will keep you warm on windy 30 degree days. The outer shell is just as great as my oracle. No complaints here.
Also, this site is probably the best outdoors website that I have dealt with. Too many people tell you they have the product and then call you later saying they ran out. Thank you ALL!!

Soft Shell not the Best

By:
November 12, 2007

I ultimately returned this jacket for the following reason -- the softshell liner restricted movement and was not warm enough. The pitzips against the softshell felt to be rather encumbering in terms of movement, and the jacket was not all too warm. I suspect the Tower would fix these problems.

Doesn't live up to hype

By:
January 16, 2008

Hi. I was disappointed with this jacket. There are several small things that could make this better. First, the pit zips don't go all the way through, second the hand openings aren't well attached so the liner pulls through when you put the jacket on or off. Finally, the zipper is made of plastic. Mine pulled apart at the bottom (even with it snapped) and can't be fixed. This was on the 3rd or 4th time I used it. For a $300 jacket, these things shouldn't happen. It is warm and is water/wind proof. But other than that, it's not worth the money.

Another take on Fit Issues

By:
December 18, 2007

I have to say that I might have judged the product a little early. I kept the jacket to see how it would hold up in the outdoor world and I have to say it is amazing. I spent my weekend in Chicago where 5+ inches of snow fell and never once was I cold or wet. The snow that accumulated on my coat and melted simply either ran off or with a quick shake was gone. I still have troubles getting the jacket on and off because my hands don't fit through the openings but I will say if you can look past that fact its a great jacket.

Fit issues

By:
November 27, 2007

I like the look and feel of the jacket but like others had to return the first one because of sizing issues. The next size up fits my body very well, but I am unable to get my hands through the sleeve openings. I thought it was just a problem with the smaller size but it is equally as bad if not worse with the larger size. I doubt I will keep the jacket because of the difficulty in taking it on and off; you would never be able to put the jacket on if you had even a thin glove on your hand prior to suiting up.

Great Jacket for the Money

By:
December 18, 2007

Just spent the day in Vail (15 degrees hi, 6 degrees low) using this jacket. Throw UnderArmour Cold Gear (add a fleece pull over for a little extra warmth) under this jacket and you're good to go. I wish there was a dedicated hook for the lift ticket, but other than that it was money well spent.

I had to return the jacket, but I bought the next size up. The new jacket fits great. I can't wait to use it in CO next month. The quality is top notch.
