Marmot Leadville Softshell Jacket - Women's

The Marmot Leadville Softshell Jacket's WindStopper membrane keeps you from getting chilled when the wind starts howling on your hiking, biking, or skiing trip. Thumbhole cuffs keep the Leadville Jacket's sleeves in place, so you don't get a gap behind your gloves. Part of Marmot's M2 softshell line, this jacket's versatile midweight warmth lets you take on just about any outdoor activity and stay comfortable.

Bottom Line: Protect yourself from the blowing wind with Marmot's Leadville Softshell Jacket.

Light Wight Softshell

I have the same model as Gaby. Same jacket as shown here minus the thumb holes and in the Aegean turquoise/lithium color.

I get tons of complements on this jacket. Not only do the colors work well, but the cut is a nice athletic fit, enough room to move, but not baggy or sloppy. The surface is soft, not sandpapery or crunchy like some softshells. It does block the wind out well and makes a good midlayer or light outerlayer. It transports moisture well, so I never get clammy or wet.

However, it's thin and not very insulating, so a thick cotton/poly sweatshirt is actually keeps me warmer. I like to wear mine as a light weight jacket over a long sleeve shirt on a cool fall or spring day. On a cold ski day I'll wear it under my coat with a base layer.

The length is decent and will keep most people well covered during high activity. I'm 5'10" though, so my medium can be slightly short for active use. The sleeves are nice and long, but won't be baggy on someone with shorter arms.

I give it four out of five for nice style, wind blocking, and moisture management. It doesn't really go above and beyond though.

don't expect it to be real fleecy. the front inside is real soft, and the jacket is comfy, but it certainly doesn't feel like a fleece.

Good jacket but different model

By:
December 23, 2008

It is a great jacket. I bought the Agean/Lithium but the one shown in the picture was not the same model that I got from Backcountry. It doesn't have the holes for the thumbs that is the reason I wanted this jacket and also the inner is white not black as shown here. Anyway the jacket is good, I recommended if you don't mind getting a different model.
