The Marmot Firelight Jacket is a midweight fleece perfect for layering or zipping into your Marmot shell. This water-repellent fleece is truly versatile with pit zips to keep you cool and a DWR treatment to keep you dry. The Firelight is sized to layer, so you don't have to worry about extra bulk under your shell. Handwarmer pockets and an inside zip pocket help keep you warm and organized. Don't be surprised if you find yourself reaching for the Firelight every morning this winter.
Bottom Line: The Marmot Firelight Jacket is one toasty coat.
Just got this as a zip-in liner for my Marmot Tamarack Jacket. Fits great (I'm 6'2 and got L), well made, and quite toasty (although not windproof of course).
I picked up this fleece about a month ago and forgot about most of my other ones. It's perfect during any sort of outdoor aerobic activity because of the generous sized pit zips. Its versatility makes it a great pick up. It's warm enough to use as a jacket when it's warm and is also fitted perfectly to wear under an outer layer. Also, who can complain about the price?
I have used and trusted Marmot products for over ten years. In needed a midweight fleece jacket, and I found the Marmot Firelight here and ordered it. It is a great jacket! Comfortable, warm, and versatile with all the little pluses that I've come to expect from Marmot. Solid construction, and handsome color and looks! I would highly recommend this jacket!
I have absolutely no complaints with this jacket. It is perfect as an outer layer on a cooler hike, and works great as a thermal layer while on the snow. The pitzips are a key feature and something that sets this jacket apart from most.
I'm looking forward to using the jacket for the first time this Friday night, I'm going to hike Mt. Lincoln (14,286ft) under the full moon, so I think this jacket will pay dividends b/4 snowboarding season even starts. The jacket has all the features I wanted including an inside zip pocket and pit zips.
I bought this fresh from the factory Jan 05, and I love it. I use it mainly for mixed weather hiking, and boating in the Pacific. It performs well in a wide temperature range and feels very natural on the body. The fleece is soft and has not showed a sign of pilling after 9 months of almost daily use. It packs well, especially given its loft when worn. All around great performer, the sort of thing Marmot is famous for.
I used this sweater/jacket this weekend in the AZ Rim country at the 9,000ft level. Although, technically still summer, it was in the 40s. The sweater performed as expected for Marmot. Fit and finish are excellent and the non-pilling fleece is smooth and soft to the touch. Breathability of the fabric was A+. I only rated it 4 of 5 because I didn't get into any aerobic situations and I didn't use it as a zip in, which is why I originally bought it, therefore I didn't test these features.
