Marmot Eos Tent 2-Person 3-Season - 2006

At just 3lbs and 14oz, the Marmot Eos 2-Person 3-Season tent is Marmot's lightest double-wide offering. Eos may be the goddess of the dawn, but this tent rules all hours—it's lightweight while you hike all day and its bomber setup provides comfort while you sleep through the night. Designed with Marmot's new hub system, the Eos offers more room with less weight and fewer pieces to set up. The new DAC clip system also eliminates sagging and provides additional tensile strength. A roomy vestibule lets you store gear outside the tent while protecting it from weather. The true bathtub floor provides weather protection and also acts as a splashguard in stormy conditions.

Bottom Line: From packing in to setting up, you'll love Marmot's innovative Eos.

North Cascades

By:
October 3, 2006

I just got back from a backpacking trip in the North Cascades. The temperature ranged from very warm to getting 3-5 inches of heavy, wet snow, with some typical cascades rain interspersed. This tent performed very well, even with the flat roof which I was concerned about. I did have to get up a couple of times to sweep the snow off my tent. But, that is true with any 3 season tent. I was snug and dry the whole time. And, when the weather was warm, I left the fly off to star gaze.
It seems to be a very strong 3 season tent. We shall see how long that flat roof stays leak free. But, it's good for now..

Marmot EOS 2 and the Lake above your head!

By:
April 15, 2005

We received this tent last week. Setup is a bit tricky with all the poles being tensioned together to form one big pole; making setup a two person effort.
The vestibule door is a fair bit lower than the tent door, making entry and exit a bit more challenging than it needs to be.
The biggest design flaw however, is the flat area of the fly at the peak of the tent. We found it impossible to tension the fly enough so that water did not pool in this area.
A very promising design, but Marmot needs to make improvements on the above before we can recommend this tent.

Solid tent

By:
January 2, 2006

I received the Marmot EOS 2-person tent about three months ago as a gift from my girlfriend. I will say having read the instructions and setting up the tent at home before camping, I had no trouble setting up the tent. In fact it is a very fast setup. My one complaint is that the top does tend to hold a certain amount of water. It is however slanted and rolls off the rain fly as it begins to pool. I spent eight hours in the tent during a heavy storm and stayed dry as can be. The tent is also light and stuffs smaller than the stuff sack.
