Thanks to high-loft 800+ fill down and an ultralight 20D DWR-coated nylon shell, the Marmot Arete 40-Degree Down Sleeping Bag weighs only 1lb 8oz (regular). The stuff sack size is 6" x 12" but will pack smaller in a compression stuff sack. This is a good 40 degree lightweight sleeping bag.

Super summer sleeping bag

This is currently my favorite summer sleeping bag on the market right now. I like the way Marmot cuts their bags (wider in the shoulders than Mountain Hardwear), the way the hood fits, and the roomy footbox. The bag itself is super light with 800+ fill down and compresses quite well (an puffs back up quite nice). The only thing you need is a waterproof stuff sack!

I am a really cold sleeper, I got this for sultry summer nights only. I always seem to underestimate desert nighttime temperature drops and I've actually used it down to about 25 degrees (which was pretty uncomfortable). But I was fine in the 30-40 degree range. The best part is its negligible weight and amazing packability.

does this bag have a zip along the foot of the bag for warmer weather? I am a warm sleeper and need the option of this, but want a bag that is still going to be warm enough with everything zipped up in slightly cooler weather....If not - is there another bag that offers this?thanks,Dave

it has a double zipper on the side that you can vent near your foot but it does not have a dedicated zipper for the footbox itself
