I have been using this rope for more than a year now. Sport climbing whether indoor or outdoor, this rope is light and almost dirt-free. Its a very good rope I would recommend for beginners. Its easy to handle. Its much cost effective compare to Beal.

This rope is indeed light, less than 8.5 pounds, of course thats not counting any dirt you pick up--and you will indeed be very aware of this rope getting dirty. As Adriano said, use a rope tarp.

I have been climbing on this rope all summer, and have what I would say is pretty normal "fuzzing" on the sheath for three months of pretty active climbing in Montana.

As other reviewers have said, this is a great first rope, or a light single on the cheap side. I will probably get a Infinity when its time to replace this rope.

The lightweight, fairly durable rope is great for sport and trad climbing. Its downfall is that it's sheath is a little weak and picks up dirt like a magnet. I've only had the rope for a few months, love it, but it's now an off yellow and has many little sheath frays that proves how much dirt it picks up and the weakness of the sheath. (i use a rope tarp every time) I really like the rope and sugest it for a good first rope.

i bought this rope about three years ago and used it for everything. iceclimbing, alpine routs, sportsclimbing. it's an awesome allround rope.
by now i've pourchased two extra halfropes and only use the tusk at the gym and the outside for short things. to start it's perfect, if you want to advance buy the mammut infinity one.

Mammut did an excellent job with this rope. Its light weight, stays dry, and is extremely durable. Ive been using this rope about 2/3 times a week for the last two months sport climbing and it has held up great. I bought the 70m and despite the tech specs saying no center mark, there is definitely a center mark distinguished by a darker green color. Prior to this rope, I had been using a mammut 10.2mm. I like the 9.8mm thickness better and will probably continue to purchase the smaller diameter ropes.

After only one day of sport climbing, part of the sheeth tore in two places. I wasn't taking any major falls, or rubbing the rope on rough rock. The "tears" were small, eventually happen to all ropes, and do not weaken the strength of the rope, but my Beal rope lasted about a year before getting the same type of wear. Also, just after one day, the yellow rope started to get dirty. The color is arguably not a big deal, but a yellow rope is going to look horrible quickly.
