Mammut Revelation Climbing Rope - 9.2mm

Yes, you read it right. The Mammut Revelation is a 9.2mm single rope. This is the climbing rope of choice for climbers who want to cut every possible ounce off their load. You'll really appreciate the weight savings at the end of 120ft of Indian Creek thumb stacks or when you're one bolt away from the chains on your project at Rifle and the pump clock is ticking fast. The Revelation is the perfect tool for light and fast alpine ascents. Superdry coating keeps it from absorbing any water while you're kicking steps up a thousand feet of couloir.

Bottom Line: When you're cutting the handle off your toothbrush to save ounces, the Revelation is the rope of choice.

Light but substantial

I have the duodess 60 meter. It's light enough to take for multi-pitch routes, and for long rope-stretcher leads at Indian Creek. Sometimes when I pick an ultra-light rope, I know I need to be careful with it, because it shouldn't get a lot of jumarring or toproping. I like this diameter because it is substantial enough to be more durable, but is also super light.

Now they've got the description right, I'll give this rope 5 stars. Double dry, light, and reasonably durable considering it's light weight.

kN is a metric measure of force. The 'k' means 1000 and the 'N' means Newtons. A Newton is equal to the amount of force required to give a mass of one kilogram an acceleration of one meter per second squared. The impact rating of 9.5kN means that it would take a force nearing a metric tonne to break the rope. In English, that means (very) roughly 1,900 pounds of straight downward force before this rope snaps. In other words, you'll be fine! Have fun!

wrong rope.

This rope is great, but it is NOT a duodess (bi-pattern), as indicated in the title. I ordered one, it wasn't duodess, and they sent a replacement, which also wasn't duodess. Otherwise a great rope.
