Mammut Performance Statik Ropes

The Mammut Performance 11mm Statik Rope's extremely low stretch and high strength make it a solid choice for anything from hauling on a big wall climb to technical caving. Mammut makes this tough rope in 50-, 100-, and 200-meter lengths to let you fix a single pitch on a climb or stretch a line from one camp to another on an expedition. *Not for use as a climbing rope.

Bottom Line: When you need an ultra-tough static rope for heavy-duty use, count on the Mammut Performance 11mm Statik Rope.

I am pretty sure that every piece of gear that comes out of Europe is UIAA/CE approved.

My First Rope and I couldn't be Happier

By:

OK,, First off the bat, This is not a rope for climbing!! I got this because I wanted a rope for Sport Rappelling. So far I have used it on one weekend and it worked perfectly. Even though I forgot my carpet (used to protect the rope where it runs over the cliff edge) it doesn't have any signs of wear!! I love that its Black. I feel all tactical and shit. hahahaha

if a person wants a rope for rappelling canyon pro is the only way to go. 11mm meter is way to thick, and probably holds a lot of water.

log pulling

By:
June 25, 2009

I needed a way to get a bunch of dead trees off a steep hillside, I watch ax men, but I don't have a yarder. I do have a skid steer and a big pully though. I just needed rope, and this statik rope works awsome. Hooked one end to the fallen tree, through a pully up in a tree across an access trail, and the other end to the bobcat. Give her a nasty amount of pulling and this rope held great.. The trees draged up the hill with almost no effort. There was very little damage to the rope after pulling 50 one hundered and twenty tall trees, in 8-60ft pieces. The pully broke but the rope held up great.. P.S. I also used a 25ft piece to tow a minivan 4 miles, no prob!!! Thanks, Brent

The last sentence in the prod description "Not for use as a climbing rope" Yet in the Tech spec you say "Recommended Use: Big wall climbing, caving, expeditions, canyoneering"

I'm new to the sport and slightly confused

More to the point….this rope could be used in climbing applications just not used as the rope that would absorb a fall. You need a dynamic rope for that. Use this rope to haul your gear on a climb or repel down after but not as the rope to save you in a fall. It would be really quick stop for ya. You’d be better off hitting the crash pad or sand.
