I'll write another review on these bad boys once I get them on some granite but....as far as the size goes....I would recommend buying the same size as your street shoes....I wear a 10.5 or a 11 depending on the maker and did the advised half down and ordered a 10....as soon as I took them out of the box I knew I was in trouble...I thot "crap they sent me kids shoes" but thot...ok I'll try this out....the only way I can describe the pain is....if I had the choice of my nads in a vise or wearing a size 10....I'd have to give that some thot.....I returned the 10s and got an 11....and they feel like the proper amount of uncomfortableness a climbing shoe should have considering due to the materials in this shoe they don't look like they're gonna stretch much...

Good Shoe FOr the Price

Owned a pair of mad rock shoes previously, the flash, and was looking for something comparable. I got the same size in this shoe as the previous one, and it seems slightly looser than the flash so in retrospect would have probably got a size lower, but then again I've only been climbing for a year so it may be that I'm just getting used to my feet getting cramped. All in all it is a great shoe for climbing, haven't taken this pair outside yet, but in the gym it's been pretty good.

Hi,

What size would you recommend buying, relative to street shoe size? I wear a US 9-9.5 in street shoes. I've heard that though there is some sizing variation between Mad Rock models, they are generally sized large-ish, so one need only go down by about half a US size or less. Advice would be much appreciated!

Sizing down one-half size is probably a good call. I wear a US 11 in street shoes and my Trickster size 10.5 works well so far.

If you are looking for the shoe that does it all, look no further than the Trickster. I have guided long multi-pitch crack routes to steep hard boulder problems in this great all around shoe. The rubber is as sticky as molasses and fits perfect out of the box. As a bonus they look like my old Vans skate shoes.

I love this model, it is very comfortable and very funny, great for sport climbing of high difficulty and Boulders. And the rubber is mad science!!!

Solid performance shoe

This is a really good shoe for every type of climbing! I have used these on sketchy slab, hard trad, and overhanging sport. Overall I'm happy with the performance of this non painfully aggressive shoe.
