MontBell Ultralight Thermawrap Jacket - Women's - 2007

With super-lightweight, durable nylon and warm insulation, the MontBell Women's Ultralight Thermawrap Jacket keeps you going on your mountaineering expeditions. This 7.6 ounce MontBell jacket utilizes a high loft, synthetic insulation which keeps you warm even when the weather turns wet. Don't be fooled by the Ultralight Thermawrap Jacket's soft, silky nylon fabric—it holds up to rough scratches and works overtime to keep you dry. Keep your hands warm in the two front pockets when you stop for a quick break on the mountain.

Bottom Line: Zip into MontBell's Ultralight Thermawrap Jacket and stay warm as you crawl out of your tent for that early morning ascent.

Love it!

This jacket is perfect for a late summer or early fall backpacking trip when the evening temperatures drop to freezing. I would not use it for seriously cold weather. For such a light weight, it really keeps you toasty. The outer fabric blocks the wind nicely, too. I love the deep pockets, inside and out. I have a 36 bust, ordered a large, and the fit is snug if I layer the jacket over anything bulkier than a t-shirt.

great expedition piece. So much better at insulation than fleece because of the weight and because it protects from the wind. Not waterproof, but does shed water to some degree. Not for rock climbing unless you have something over it, as it is somewhat delicate.

too thin

I bought this jacket because it was very lightweight but it did not provide enough warmth for a hiking expedition in the Wind River Wilderness of Wyoming in August. I used it for layering with Patagonia Capeliene 2 and a T underneath and a Mountain Hardwear rain jacket on top. Still, I was not warm in the evenings. I was trying to keep my pack weight ultralight. But now I know that for an alpine environment, I should have picked a heavier puffy jacket.
