This is one of the best tents I ever had in a long,long time. Great ventilation system, roomy, good insulation, even the color is great. It was a great choice !

A Storm of a Tent

This tent is serious business, when we first pitched it we called it the bug because it looked like a big fat Caterpillar. The fabric and design utilize a tunnel design which has pros and cons in mountain environments. The biggest pro being high wind stability if pitched directly into the wind, the con being that you require good peg placements and for the wind to be from a constant direction with an available campsite. This tent is very suited to conditions such as Antarctica, New Zealand and Patagonia. To date this is the only Tunnel tent I know of that is free standing (with the additional cross pole). While this feature adds little in the way of structural strength and is a significant extra weight it does make this design more versatile. The joint fly and inner makes for very quick pitching but does mean that utilizing just the body or fly an impossibility. This tent is on the heavy side for a two person tent, but when the wind is raging and blowing hard you’ll find this expedition tent, a comfortable and spacious haven for two.
