MSR Mutha Hubba Tent 3-Person 3-Season

You might think the pole system looks a bit unusual when you set up the MSR Mutha Hubba Tent, but when you and two camping buddies sit inside the roomy Mutha, you’ll understand. It’s all about lofty interior-space goodness.

  • Two large vestibules to keep gear dry and prepare food
  • Hub system sets up quickly
  • Stay-dry entrance design helps on rainy nights

Bottom Line: Avoid cramped space and the dreaded midnight elbow-to-the-eye.

Can you pitch the Hubba tent with just the tent fly and poles? Or do you need the footprint too?

You have to have the footprint for that type of pitch.

I would definitely recommend getting the footprint as well if that is how you plan to pitch it.

Exactly as Bryan said. I just returned from a trip to the desert. We had very high winds a few days and when we came back to camp the group who had the Hubba returned to a sand box. It was a great tent though!!

All of the Hubbas will do just fine in 3 season winds. I do know first hand that if it is in the desert, then you should get ready for some sand to be in your tent. The mesh is so breathable!
