Mountainsmith Dog Trippin' - 2007

The Mountainsmith Dog Trippin' Kit outfits your pup in everything she needs to hit the trail, and it all fits securely in a pack she carries herself. The Mountainsmith Dog Pack has soft padded straps, a well-vented top, and compression straps to ensure a comfortable load. When it's time for a snack, whip out the compressed grub and water bowls from the side compartment. Each has a webbing stiffener so you don't get water and food all over the trail. Once you get to the campsite, lay out her comfortable fleece-top bed and let her relax while you struggle with the tent poles. When you return to civilization, grab the leash from its top mesh pocket and avoid a nasty ticket from the dog-hating man.

Bottom Line: Your pup will be more prepared for the trail than you with the Mountainsmith Dog Trippin' kit.

I got this for my German Shorthair pointer. She is 10 months and the medium fits with room to expand as she continues to grow. What a great thing to help release extra energy and give her a sense of work. I heard the more you make a dog feel like they are working, the more focused and happy they become. This backpack does exactly that for my dog, and for those with GSP's you will appreciate this much more than you ever expected when it's time to settle for the night.

Does anyone have a picture of this on their dog? Hard to tell the actual size from the picture of everything laid out. Thanks

This is an awesome dog pack and the extras (bowls, leash, sleeping pad) just seem to be an added bonus! We took our dog backpacking with us and had her carry her own food. Besides taking a bit of weight of our shoulders, she loved wearing the pack! She seemed comfortable, moved easily while wearing it, and was so excited each morning when we put it back on her shoulders! She knew she was in for a good time that day when she was wearing the pack. Check the sizing chart- size large pack is definitely for an extremely large dog!

everything you need

This is a great package if you have not purchase any camping gear for your dog. It comes with everything you need.
The only complaint I have is when we were on a 50 miles backpack, the torso strap broke, but with the awesome warranty policy, I was able to replace it..no questions asked.
