Moment Comi Alpine Ski - 2008

The mega-fat Moment Comi Alpine Ski rules powder and crud like a ruthless Russian dictator. Ideal for skiers looking for a dedicated powder tool with traditional sidecut and camber, the Comi features a massive footprint for major flotation. Great powder / post-pow ski

I spent a few days on a stiff version of the Comi, so my review may night be directly correlated to what's offered at Backcountry.com but it might worth posting. These are easily my new favorite ski. Performance in powder is excellent as expected, but this ski really shines when things begin to get tracked-out. They are super stable at high speeds and they slice right through crud. For its size, this ski is surprisingly quick in the trees and tight spots. Hardpack performance is adequate though I did find the Comi uncomfortable on long, flat traverses. If you're looking for a powder ski that doesn't need to be swapped out in the afternoon of a pow day, this is it.

Hey, i'm 5'9. Advanced - expert skiieri'm thinking about adding this ski as the second to my quiver (i have park skis already)? but when the powders gone can i still takethem around the mountain ? also could they be used for some side country touringthanks also does anyone know if they're rockerd?

You can take them around the mountain but they aren't going to be a whole lot of fun on groomers or hardpack. With their huge waist and fairly small sidecut, it is going to be difficult to put them on edge. They would work well for sidecountry touring and are not rockered. They have traditional camber and sidecut.If you have the legs, you shouldn't have trouble piloting the Comi in all conditions. With the effective edge at 150cm, I've found that they are pretty quick for the size and you can make turns of all shapes on them. Sure, they're not the greatest when snow is super firm, but you'll be in the park for those days. They weigh about 10lbs which isn't really light for a backcountry ski, but should be alright for short sidecountry hits.08/09 Comi's are not rockered but the 09/10 model will have tip rocker.

This ski is definitely a ski made for powder! It has an HUGE underfoot for powder skiing, and it is also a twintip ski so you can drop from the cliffs and land switch in the deep powder. I would really recommend this ski for powder skiing and big-mountain, but if your looking for a ski that can do it all this is not it. 4 star powder ski! (Not the best on the market)
