Mountain Hardwear Lodown Jacket - Women's - 2007

The Mountain Hardwear Women's Lodown Jacket makes an ultra-warm mid layer for backcountry skiing, and it fits right into the urban scene when worn alone on freezing cold days in town. This water-resistant down jacket warms your core while you make turns through cold smoke. Unzip the extra-long underarm vents when you're skinning up on yo-yo runs. The Lodown Jacket comes with its own stuff sack so you can toss it into a corner of your ski pack ‘til you need it, and it zips into compatible Mountain Hardwear Trifecta shells.

Bottom Line: When your midlayer needs to be warm, make it the Mountain Hardwear Lodown Jacket.

Love the snuggle

By:

A comfortable, warm, stylish vest to enjoy in the front and backcountry. Great fit, long enough for a 5'9" woman, so there are no gaps for the chill to sneak in. Love the snuggle factor of the downtown vest.

Like scaring the geese and then waiting for the feathers to fall off? : ) You'd have a better chance of getting your answer straight from Mtn.Hardwear.

Snuggle-icious

By:

The MH Lodown is so toasty warm, it is my favorite companion for winter camping, late season desert excursions, and general 'its freezing out here' conditions.
Not so full that you feel like a stay-puff marshmallow, quite stylish in detailing and flattering diagonal stitching.
Love the Lodown - it's snuggle-icious.

Nelly, you can't just throw it in the wash. If you would like to wash it, you can buy a cleaner in the form of detergent at an outdoor store. One that I've sold to a lot of customers, I work at an outfitters, is the Granger Down Wash Plus. However, try not to wash your down as much as possible, it will decrease the life of the product the more you wash it. Also, do not worry when it comes out of the washing machine less fluffy. It needs to be left alone overnight to "puff" back up to normal size.

Winter blahs

By:

Brown is the new black, and this coat made the trend possible. It just fit too snuggly, and I really wanted a shirttail feature on a winter coat.

Does anyone know if this coat fits true to size? I hover between an XS and S, and I usually prefer a snugger fit so I'm unsure if the small will be too big (although according to the sizing chart I would be a small).

Mountain Hardware Women'sLodown

By:

I loved it but I didn't love the color I originally ordered so I exchanged it for the Lava. The Lava color is not loud, it is red but still very earthy which I love. Looks great with everything. I have never been too warm in a jacket (I am never warm enough!)and this jacket is really warm! I have to take it off when I get inside or I start to sweat! It is really nice, super thin and lightweight. I had no idea down jackets were so nice.
We always have a great experience with Mountain Hardware. I have seen a few feathers on the outside of the jacket, but not enough to bother me or make me think I got a cheap jacket. I'm kind of afraid of getting caught on something because the material feels like it would rip on something even just a little sharp or catchy... I have to be careful.
Anyway, I love it!
The customer service is excellent. Too bad they don't offer free return shipping too! That would be icing on the cake.
