Wear the Mountain Hardwear Men's Compressor Pants on your backcountry treks. The superlight fabric and lofty but compressible insulation keeps you warm without restricting movement or weighing you down. Full-length side zips on the Compressor Pants give you venting possibilities on your uphill climbs, and the articulated knees give you plenty of room for knee-drop skiing and mountaineering hikes. The Compressor Pants' reinforced seat and knees keep these ultralight performance pants around season after season.
Bottom Line: The Mountain Hardwear Pants are warm, lofty, and compressible for your backcountry adventures.
The compressor pants from Mountain Hardware are the new version of the old standby the Chugach Pants. All the old faults are gone: too-short inseam is longer, and everything else is super. A great value and wonderful, warm pants. My favorites.
The knees and the butt are reinforced with a burlier fabric... the rest of the pants are made with a super light 15D nylon. They are not insulated with down... but, with a proprietary synthetic insulation from Mountain Hardwear called Thermic Micro. It is very light and very down-like in feel. Hope this helps!
These pants are ridiculously warm for the weight and compressibility. I can be warm at -15 with only a light base layer underneath. the only thing that's not so good for any winter activities is it's not waterproof, but there aren't any breathability issues either.
Hi there, would you have compressor pant in woman's version? Or do they make them only in men's? How much would postage to Australia cost please? Thank you Jarmila
Not sure that there'd be a big difference in a women's specific pant. I use these pants for alpine climbs and hunkering down at camp and am very happy with them, the full side zip make them easy to get on and off--just size them appropriately. I gaffed and ordered a medium and should definitely have a small (woman's size 6)
These pants may be a bit of overkill for early spring backcountry in the Sierras. They are warm. I need a new bag so I think what I am going to do is get an under 2 lbs bag and use these pants for the colder sleeping nights. I do like having them on around the camp.
Iam Currently in Kazakhstan, amd when I arrived in Aktobe it was -27 c, and my bagged has been lost in transit. However I did pack these pants and the sub zero coat in my carry on luggage and it is all I have got at the moment. The coat is super warm and the pants the same, they are just great and at the moment saving my life.
