This is a wonderful all-around jacket. I've used it under shells (not as bulky as you'd think), out camping, around town... It's incredibly warm, while not feeling over-the-top puffy. It's a bit shorter than I expected- hits me right about mid-hip. Perfect amount of pockets, and very soft. I also love that it compresses down into it's tiny bag- a lot of jacket for the small amount of space it takes up! I highly recommend the Phantom!

This jacket is great for stuffing into its tiny stuff sack and throwing into a pack for any trip. I have used mine for cold mornings in fire camp and for ski trips as well. I really like how small it can get, and so far, the down has held up really well with all the stuffing and unstuffing. The only thing I don't really like about it is that it is pretty short in length and in the sleeves. By the way, the pictures of the colors on this site don't do it justice. The actual colors are much brighter.

Awesome jacket. Light weight. Slender fit. Kept me warm surviving winter park, Colorado nights. Oregano is a cool color. I get a lot of compliments.

Us guys need to keep our wives toasty on those high altitude hikes. I bought phantom for two reasons. 1. 13 oz. in weight keeps pack weights down for sure. 2. Momma was oh so toasty even down past the freezing mark. Mountain Hardware does it again.

I did a lot of resesarch. This is an amazing jacket. The warmth / weight / packability / cost ratio is pretty ideal. As a rock climber, I needed a technical belay jacket to keep my girlfriend toasty warm. I picked it up for her in red - her favorite color. She now wears this jacket everywhere; from the city to the camp to the crags. Once in a while she gets poked with a feather on the inside; that's 'cause the jacket is so nice and warm, in town she wears it with only a t-shirt. It seems MHardwear(and my girlfriend) both run a half size small. I bought it in XS; my gfriend is 5 foot 1 / 107 lbs. This is the one.
