Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Tights - Men's - 2006

When you're heading for the mountains in sub-zero temps, Mountain Hardwear Men's Power Stretch Tights are the perfect warm base layer pants for your layering system. Providing the same warmth as midweight fleece, these pants are made of soft, fast-wicking Polartec Power Stretch. Flat-lock seams and a gusseted crotch make these pants very comfortable while providing uninhibited freedom of movement. Put a shell over these tights, and be set for the coldest weather you can find in the lower 48.

Bottom Line: A comfortable base layer for cold mountain weather.

Good for COLD weather

I have to be honest, I bought these pants mostly because of how incredible they felt. Now that I have used them, however, I am glad I did. They are warm, breathable, and obscenely comfortable. They kept me warm without overheating me all day on the slopes and then kept me alive as I waited for 2.5 hours in line for a ski 'n ride bus. Beautiful.

These would work well for nordic skiing and or running but the only thing is that they are not that windproof. Personally, I like having a bit of wind protection when nordic skiing and for that reason I would probably choose a Transition Tight from Mountain Hardwear or similar for that sort of use. Hope this helps!

I bought this for my husband to use under his ski pants. They are form-fitting but they are also very comfortable and warm!!! He never complained and was quite happy in low 20's F.

These things are great. they are totally comfortable on the mountain or off. the stretch is great and they are as warm as you need them to be. I can wear them climbing or even running and biking through a huge range of temps from freezing to chilly, they adapt like crazy.

Excelent tights

By:
July 17, 2006

These tights work great in cold weather, high activity situations. I wore a pair last January when I ran a marathon at McMurdo station Antarctica and the tights worked perfectly. They were soft and extremely comfortable (no chafing). They also did a great job wicking, and were plenty warm for the 4 hours I was out that day. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a comfortable pair of tights to wear during cold weather activities.
