Great for Snowshoeing

By:

These worked great for snowshoeing through fresh powder. Kept my feet/legs dry, no complaints.

High Quality

By:
December 14, 2006

These Gaiters are high quality. They are tough, stylish, and light weight. I use them on short hikes, day trips, during snow activities, and in the heavy Northwest rain. They get the job done and their cool feature is that they have convenient ventilation flaps (essential). If you are a bigger guy I recommend getting the XL so that they will not be too snug around your calves.

Going on an Africa trip, will these work in the brush?

Absolutely! They are certainly tough enough but not as breathable as the OR Crocodile. Here's the great, breathable gaiter that will work superbly for most all situations:

Bad for snow

By:
July 12, 2005

Just climbed Mt. Hood in these. Snap failed continuously and VELCRO® is poor. These may be okay for rain but are worthless for mountaineering. Get the OR gaiters.

Weak Clasp

By:
May 3, 2004

Not a very good product. The button at the base of the gator is week. Sidewalls wore through in 12-15 days.

great so far

By:
July 11, 2005

I used them for the first time on an extremely wet day in the Cascades and they performed very well. I also got into some snow for about 6 miles on the same trip. Very slushy and deep. I was impressed when I took them off that I was completely dry under them. I will be anxious to see how they do in the future. Very happy so far. Venting works great.

Performed well in Alaska

By:
September 5, 2005

Purchased prior to three week hiking and fishing trip to Alaska. I hiked in glacial moraine, scree, mud, some snow and ice. I crossed numerous streams and small rivers. The product performed well with none of the difficulties with the product as described by other reviewers that I had read prior to purchase. Only observation—if it had a higher vent panel, it would improve the effectiveness of the waterproof area.
