The Mountain Hardwear Women's Synchro Jacket is a sick-looking waterproof softshell. That's right, a softshell that's waterproof, not just water-resistant. How so? Mountain Hardwear sandwiched a waterproof laminate, called Conduit, between a durable, stretch-woven exterior and a soft, microfleece interior to make Conduit Softshell. Then they taped the exterior seams with stretchy, tenacious TufTape, making them impermeable to water to keep you bone dry. Add watertight pocket zippers and you have yourself a three-layer softshell as waterproof as traditional Gore-Tex jackets-but more sleek, pliable, and abrasion resistant.
Bottom Line: Not only does this jacket look sweet, it'll perform beyond your wildest dreams.
Bought this for my girl for Christmas who has quite the collection of fancy out-on-the-town jackets. She loves it and now wears this one all the time. Super warm, light weight, and stylin'. She had to stop leaving it on her chair at work because her co-workers were starting to eyeball it with itchy fingers. Can't wait to take it into the snow.
This jacket has GREAT material/technology, but the fit is way too short!!! I am normally a size 2, and the size 4 doesn't even reach my hips. I think only shorter (less than 5'4") women could wear this jacket.
This jacket is awesome! My fiancée had one first so I had to get one. It's great in rainy weather or just cold wind. It's pretty thin, but I stay very warm in all but the coldest weather.
This jacket is great! I have worn it in rain and it has kept me dry. Also it is cozy for biking at night or cross- country skiing. It seems to breathe quite well and I like the collar cos it keeps your chin warm if you get a breeze. It is lightweight enough to carry as a back up jacket too. I wouldn't wear it if I wasn't doing something aerobic, but then again I get cold fairly easily. Great colors too.
I love my Mountain Hardwear Synchro jacket- the lightweight, waterproof and windproof jacket was perfect on my last snowboarding trip to Mammoth. Phone in the upper arm zip pocket and I was ready to go. Used a windshirt (Mountain Hardwear) underneath when weather picked up a bit- never got cold or wet. Packs easy and the color smoky violet looks great with my black 686 pants. Thanks for the great deal!
I have had this jacket for almost a year. The first time I wore it, I was skiing in the rain...I stayed dry and warm. The jacket also blocks wind very well. I throw it in the washing machine on cold and hang it to dry, and it dries quickly. Nothing has broken or torn on it, even with frequent use. I wear it in all kinds of weather and for all kinds of activities. It even stuffs into a pack fairly small. Sometimes, I wish I had purchased the version with the hood, but other than that, it's great.
This is my second Synchro Jacket. I purchased the first for myself the second for my wife. We are both part of a Search and Rescue team and have enjoyed having these jackets for most any conditions. I highly recommend them to anyone considering a soft shell jacket. PS She loves the hooded one!
