Marmot Sharp Point Softshell Jacket - Women's

With its Gore WindStopper shell fabric and slim, women's-specific design, the Marmot Women's Sharp Point Jacket goes solo during mild weather activities or layers up for gnarly weather. From ice climbing in AK to shredding couloirs in Las Leñas, the water-resistant, windproof Sharp Point Jacket provides the weather protection you need in mild conditions without the excess material and inferior breathability of most hard shells. The Sharp Point's stretch woven Gore WindStopper shell is laminated to fleece for incredible comfort and warmth. The fitted cut of the Sharp Point makes it ideal for layering under a hardshell when the blizzard of the century arrives.

Bottom Line: For superior comfort and breathability, go soft.

rockin' jacket

this coat is awesome for back country adventures. I've been using it to hike and snowboard and its very breathable and a total wall to the wind. It is warm for a softshell because it's fleece lined so i usually shed it halfway up the hill but it's light and easy to throw on and off. The cut is very flattering and the fabric isn't super stiff like other softshells can sometimes be. It's a fairly true fit, maybe on the large side for marmot stuff (i usually go a size up but this time I got my regular size)

Only complaint: I wish it had a hood!

sizing help?? Hello - I'm quite certain I'd wear an extra small, but the color I like is only in small. I'm 5'2", about 113 pounds and measure out rather petite. Would a small be too big for me, or would it work to accommodate layers underneath?

I'm similar in size to you (5'2'', 108, petite). I just got this jacket in the mail today and am disappointed with the way it fits in the shoulders. It has tons of extra material in the pits and makes my shoulders look huge. I love the jacket otherwise but am still returning it.

My wife is 5'4" and 113#. Marmot small and MHW small are perfect proprotions for her. Extra small jackets are too short on the arms, too tight in the shoulders, and too tight right at the hips. Marmot seems to size very similar to Mountain Hardwear, but Marmot is cut more "lady-like" through the mid-section, therefore eliminating that "pouch" in the front she always complains about with many other brands. Also worth noting, her torso is shorter length.

Too short

By:
September 8, 2008

This jackets sits right at the waist. If you are average to above average torso length it will be too short. Otherwise this is a great jacket and I am very disappointed I could not find one a little longer ( I am 5'6 105#s)
