Though the Women's Furlong Jacket has all the technical features of Marmot's mountain-based softshells, it's happiest kicking around town. With stretch Spirit fabric and Faux Fur trim on the hood, cuffs and hem, the Furlong combines mountain quality with city style. The princess seams and athletic fit of this water-resistant jacket give you the look you want without sacrificing performance. The Furlong is ready for a night out, and if a snowstorm rolls into town you'll be all set.
Bottom Line: From snowstorm to store run, the Furlong is ready.
Love this jacket. I usually wear an XS, but based on other reviews, decided to go with the S. The gal that said she was 5'2" and 100 and got the medium, threw me. I'm 5'4" and 109 and the S fits perfect. Doesn't look huge without layers, and has just enough room for an extra layer (I've worn it with a polar fleece hoodie underneath). I'm a swimmer, so I've got shoulders. Bottom line, go by your typical size and add one size for layering. Jacket is super functional - perfect for every season. I"ll even bring it along if the A/C is on too high in the summer. Very fashionable yet not overstated. don't think I'd actually wear this for skiing though. too pretty.
This jacket is thin but has good wind protection. I am 5 feet, 110-115 pounds and a small fit great with a thin-medium sweater or a fleece underneath. FYI the fabric is not matte.
i absolutely love this eye-catching jacket. i have the bright plum and black. i need to size up for an unrestricted fit but otherwise it is a gorgeous trim look.. love it - love it - love it!
My wife really likes this jacket. She high-fived me when she put it on. I usually don't listen to people when they say to get a larger or smaller size than usual, but this time they were all right. Get a larger size. My wife is usually medium and sometimes small, but she had to get a large in this jacket. The medium was a little short at the waist.
Yes, it does run a bit small, but the style is great. (I always wear an XS, ordered a small and it fits perfect). This jacket is perfect for errands during the day, or for a fun outer layer on a casual night out. It has a very flattering cut and I love the "fur" trim.
i bought this jacket last year in a magenta color and loved it. it's adorable AND functional. it quickly replaced my previous favorite "dressy fleece". my boy just got me another one in black, and i am so happy to have two!
NOTE: they definitely run a little small (i'm 5'7" and 120 pounds with somewhat broad shoulders, and the size small just barely fits).
Found this at a local store and had to have it. I've been looking for a fleece jacket/layer for awhile and this one was too cute to pass up! Love that it's wind/water resistant and the fur makes it super stylish. Bottom of jacket hits me at the top of my hips, so it's not a long jacket, but just long enough to cover where my jeans/shirt meet. My torso is average to long. Bought in size medium (per size chart) and it fits great. I'm 5'7" and 137lbs. There's enough room for a couple of wool baselayers but not a vest by any means.
what's not to luv! soft faux fur around and great water and wind-resistant exterior. Very stylish. Only thing is sizing. I normally do XS for Marmot fleeces. I needed a Small in this jacket.
It's definitely not a technical jacket you'd wear skiing or hiking or climbing. It's more of a "out on the town" jacket. It fits very snuggly. I am 5ft 2in and weigh 100lb and I ordered the medium. The small fit perfectly with a t-shirt underneath but was too small with anything else. The jacket is light weight and you need at least a long-sleeve shirt or warmer layering base to stay warm in this jacket. With all that said, I love this jacket. I bought it to wear around town and it is both stylish and practical (i.e. it sheds rain and keeps me pretty warm).
Marmot makes killer stuff and this jacket is no different. Interesting shell material but it works fantastic. Bought it for my fiancé and I need to warn you they run small. She is a solid medium and they are cut very tight and fitted so a large was called for, move up one size and you won't regret it. We are getting married in Yosemite in a few weeks and she is going to wear this to our ceremony outside!
I first purchased this jacket in an XS and had to send it back for a small. The size of the body was fine but when I put on the hood and zipped the jacket, the back would ride up and I couldn't move my arms! (I only recommend an XS for those who are under 4'11""tall, as I am almost 5'2" and it was really too short. Other than that, the jacket is a winner, light and warm and very cute.
Yes, get a size up - but its cut so well that fit isn't sacrificed elsewhere. Oh, and the bright plum is really closer to a bright pink. Its pretty windproof and reflects the Oregon rain. A little foofy, which is the fun part about it!
