Hi all,

Does anyone know if this bag is water resistant? I am looking for a down bag that is light and warm, but that can take a little moisture from a wet environment and keep rollin.

Please let me know if anyone as experience with that.

Thanks!

You might want to look at getting a bivy sack for it if you want it to be water proof.

one awesome bag

incredibly comfortable, a lot of room, even with my wide shoulders!! for a zero degree down bag of this price, i was shocked with how small it packs down to. got it for late fall/early spring stays in Yellowstone and Glacier and first got to test it out this fall. got down to about 15 in Yellowstone, and my 3 buddies were in 15 20 25 degree bags and froze. i sure didn't though!! soooooo comfortable, almost slept in the nude!! i love this bag. i've never had a zero degree bag and am certain i picked the very best

Fantastic! Warm, Light, and Comfortable...

At last, winter camping is warm and comfortable! All my previous snow trips have been miserably cold, even in a well-made snow cave. But this bag warms me instantly, not even having to wait for my body warmth to heat it. Plus, you can't beat down for compressibility and comfort. Attached to my Mountain Hardwear bivy, this combo is warm and dry, without fail. Best bag I've ever had, certainly.

Great Bag

The Never Summer is the best bag I've ever owned. I've had some bad luck with Kelty and Northface, but when I switched to the Marmot I knew I would never buy another brand. It is versatile, compresses to about 6"x6" with a tight-tight compression sack and is extremely warm. I would recommend the Marmot Never Summer to anybody.

Great at Orizaba

By:
December 8, 2005

I just used my Never Summer Bag for the first time at 14,000 feet on El Pico de Orizaba in Mexico. It was excellent! It kept me and my toes nice and warm, with plenty of room to turn over as needed. The sleeping in the bag put me in perfect shape for our summit climb. A great bag!

A great deal for a quality bag. It kept me toasty in the snowy Sierras with no trouble. It’s not too heavy, compressible, and very comfortable.

Great mountaineering bag!

I bought the Marmot Never Summer bag to replace my old TNF bag last year. I had spent a lot of time researching bags on-line and could not find a 600 fill down bag rated at 0 degrees for less $. During my field test of this bag, it got cold, but all I did was snap closed the draft collar and tighten up the hood and it was toasty warm inside this bag. The draw strings are very easy to use in the dark. It packs down really well and at just over 3lbs you really can't expect a better warmth to wt. ratio. Plus for a down bag it is rather breathable. I really can't come up with a negative thing to say about this bag.
