Top off your water resistant soft shell outfit with a PreCip hat and forget about having to add a waterproof layer when those pesky afternoon showers roll in. Now with a soft and wicking DriClime sweatband to combat moisture from the inside, too. A webbing buckle adjustment and sleek, practical design make for a stylish hat.
Bottom Line: A dry scalp can also be a good thing.
For climbing and backpacking, you just can't wear a broad-brim, hat and you really need a visored "ball cap" hat. The PreCip is perfect: snug fit for high winds, water resistant yet breathable, lightweight, and can handle getting crushed in the bottom of the pack. I love mine! Even fits under my climbing helmet.
I love the Marmot PreCip material. I took it out last weekend to the Crestone Mt. Group. We got dumped on and I just kept right on going. Very comfortable. The elastic back with adjustable sizes makes it super comfortable.
This has to be one of the toughest 1oz hats made. Excellent for biking as the strap can be instantly tightened against the wind. I have always worn the typical cotton hats, but this one is so much lighter and comfortable. Really stiff brim, and I'm having a hard time getting it to hold a sharp curve, but its getting there. It does well keeping sweat to a minimum with its breathability. A fun demonstration: when you are eating and someone asks you if your hat is waterproof, then take it off, and dump a glass of water over it. Actions speak louder than words!
To be honest with you, I've never worn a hat this comfortable. This thing rocks, all the way around! It's super light, and waterproof. What other hat offers these great features? No rain storm can penetrate this thing, it's bomb proof!
The Precip hats are made from the same material that Marmot uses in their rain gear. The hat breaths and stays cool when it's warm. It repels water making this an all season hat. And they come in 3 really cool colors.
When ever there is the threat of rain, I am sure to wear my PreCip hat. When used in conjunction with a hooded parka, I don't have to worry about the bill of the cap becoming "water-logged" during a rain storm. This combination has served me well both fly fishing and attending football games in inclement weather.
This is the best hat I have ever bought. I am going to order more just to have back ups. It fits like a glove and its waterproof and cool in the hot sun.
Nice hat, and I like the elastic strap in the back. It has a locking mechanism I have never seen before integrated into the clip that is pretty nice. That said, the strap is way long and flaps around in the back. It's a simple matter to trim this but then you have to sew up the end of the strap so it' won't unravel over time. Again, nice hat but it will see limited use.
As the title says, you get the point. That is why this hat made my day. I'm moving from Montana (dry) to England (wet) and knowing the conditions I would be in, I went rain gear shopping. This hat is 100% waterproof and breaths better than my jacket (from what I can tell). I also use it when it's not raining when I'm out running biking or climbing just to keep the sun out of my eyes. This hat is a great move for those of us who wear glasses. Keeping the lenses dry is always key to being able to function outdoors. GO MARMOT!
