Marmot Randonnee Glove - Men's - 2004

The Randonnee utilizes versatile fabrics to create an incredibly well-balanced, exceptionally durable all-around snow sports glove. New Pittards Armortan Digital WR100X Leather reinforces the palm and fingers. A Cordura shell with Honeycomb coating adds durability and breathability. DriClime lining wicks moisture and keeps hands dry and warm. Low bulk PrimaLoft insulates the entire hand while a high performance Gore-Tex insert adds waterproof breathability.

Bottom Line: We've heard it time and time again: Marmot gloves just won't let your hands get cold.

Cold hands

By:
December 5, 2005

I like the feel of these gloves—very comfortable on the hand—so I bought a second pair even after blowing through my first pair in half a season. The second pair blew apart too, seams are weak. They’re also not very warm. I have had constantly cold digits in these gloves even on mild days. Disappointing because the fit is so good. A good California glove, but not meant for Montana.

best glove ever

By:
November 14, 2005

It took 5 hard seasons to kill my first pair. Light for dexterity and low swing weight. Always warm in the worst, yet never seem to overheat. Previously, I used top line Grandoes, but they don't even compare.

marmot randonee glove

By:
October 28, 2003

The Marmot Randonee Glove is the nicest ski glove I've ever used. Great dexterity and a great soft feel. Initially I thought they would not last -they felt soft and "broken-in" from the get go. I'm going into my third season in them! Without a blown stitch or any major wear. These are the shii-ite.

the best gloves...

By:
December 29, 2003

I always have had cold hands every time I go skiing in Vermont tried glove liners...these gloves were great...kept me warm and dry. The GoreTex really works...my hands used to be soaking wet at the end of the day.

Best Glove I've ever owned

By:
April 8, 2003

The Randonnee Glove is by far the best glove I've ever owned. I've logged about 20 days on the mountain with them this year, and they never cease to impress. The gore-tex lining has kept my phalanges nice and dry in every type of condition imaginable. In fairly cold weather (sub-15 degrees), however, my fingers get a bit cold. But bringing my digits into the palm of the gloves does the trick. The bomb-proof leather palms are truly invincible. Barely a mark on them. I'm really hard on my gear and these gloves are taking the abuse in stride. I think that if you're looking for a high quality glove, at a reasonable price, this is your glove.

Returned

By:
December 29, 2003

Although I have never spent this much money on a glove, I decided to upgrade since my fingers always seem to get cold and the reviews from this site were good. I used these gloves in 30 degree temperature (no wind or snow) and within about 20 minutes my fingers were cold. They seem to lack the insulation quality needed in a true cold weather glove. I returned the glove.

He loves the gloves!

By:
January 19, 2004

I bought these gloves for my fiance for Christmas. He skiied in Utah during the "Blizzard of 2003" and enjoyed having the gloves....his hands stayed toasty warm and dry. The service at BackcountryStore.com was wonderful also. Thanks!

Keeps you warm!

By:
February 16, 2005

I spent several days skiing at Wolf Creek with these gloves. They work very well as long as your gloves stay dry on the outside. My girlfriend (who was learning to ski), used them because her hands were freezing and they worked really well until the outside was totally soaked and then her hands started to get cold.

nice gloves

By:
April 2, 2003

These gloves are the deal. I used them just about every day this ski season and my paws were almost always warm. There were a couple super cold days when I had to scrunch my digits on the lift, but they were usually warm and always dry. I would recommend these to anyone who plans to spend a good chunk of the winter outside.
