Lowe Alpine TFX Appalachian 65+15 Backpack - 4000cu in

Lowe Alpine has always been known for keeping things simple, and the TFX Appalachian 65+15 Backpack continues that trend. An adjustable back panel with plenty of support helps you carry whatever you toss into the large 4900cu inch cargo space. Lowe Alpine added a separate sleeping bag compartment to keep the rest of your gear from getting lost in the folds, and several external pockets separate out the small stuff. This Lowe Alpine pack gets the job done for backpacking, camping, and even a bit of mountaineering thanks to the single ice-axe loop.

Bottom Line: Simplicity rules all.

In the title for the product, the backpack is referred to as a 4000cu in. yet in the description, it states the pack is 4900cu in. I'm just confused as to what size it actually is.

The Lowe Alpine pack descriptions often list the standard and maximum volume in the pack name. Example: The TFX Appalachian 65+15 pack has a 65 litre (4000 cubic inch) standard volume. An additional 15 litres (900 ci) can be obtained by extending the packs spindrift collar and floating adjustable lid to it's maximum length.

Appalachian Pack

This pack fits well and is quite comfortable. I just finished a 4 day trip with it and really have no complaints. I was able to fit all my gear inside the pack without having to expand the top. The size adjustment is very easy to use and is great for getting the bag to fit perfectly to your back. I would suggest this pack to any of my friends because of its low weight and price while still having all of the features of more expensive packs.
