Lowa Struktura Light Alpine Touring Boot - Mens - 2004

The Lowa Struktura Light AT boot is built off the same design as the Strukturas you know and love. Lowa simply scraped off all the extra weight. This no-carb diet creates an AT boot that'll get you up the hill with ease, and support your downhill exploits as well. The width-adjustable cuff spoiler adds comfort and customization to the upper shell. The dual density rubber sole gives you traction and stability. The super light heat moldable liner provides optimum comfort and support. Three buckles and a power strap keep you snug in the Light.

Bottom Line: Lighter is better.

Good Boot

By:

I like this boot! Very comfortable from the moment I put it on my feet. Inner boot is well built, and the shell has the same hardware as my Technica alpine boots. The two tongues work well and address the only weakness that I could find; that is they are pretty soft in the ankle. I've had them out twice, and they worked great. Can't wait to get them for 6 days in Switzerland.

My 2 cents worth of advice

By:
February 13, 2006

I have a wide foot that is somewhat difficult to size. Lowa boots traditionally seem to fit people with a low volume foot better. These boots become a little uncomfortable after a several hours of touring. Ensure you have a good boot fitter who knows what he's doing. If your goal of AT skiing is with emphasis on touring, these boots are great. The two tongues change out easily which offers a more versatile boot with two distinct personalities. Stiff tongue for the downhill mode, and two-piece for more flex. Overall, a nice combination, but after several weeks of heavy use the liners are starting to show signs of wear that has me a little concerned. This can easily be fixed with the proper application of duct tape around those areas. As for my opinion, do your research, demo several models before committing hard cash, and have a good boot fitter.

Struktura Light AT boot

By:

Very nice boot, extremely light. Much more comfortable than my previous boots (Scarpa Denali). Quite low, so less good for downhill, also an upright stance.

Good mix of comfort and performance

By:
February 2, 2005

I have a somewhat wide size 12 foot and a high arch (think Roman marble sculpture), which has always made bootfitting tricky, but after trying out boots from Scarpa (forget it!) and Garmont (better, but...), the Lowa's with the thermofit liner fit like a dream. They stay quite comfortable over a long day of hiking and skiing, provide surprisingly good performance, and have held up well.

Super service

By:

I really love this company. Fast service and these boots are extremely comfortable. We have bought 2 pairs of Lowa Struktura's the light and the womens and they are both made exceptionally.
