Line Limited Edition Octoland Anthem Ski - 2008

Line pro rider and artist Eric Pollard styled out this Limited Edition Octoland Anthem Ski with signature artwork. One of Line’s most popular skis, the Anthem loves to throw down in the park and pipe. Line gave the center-mount Anthem symmetric geometry and flex for maximum switch skiing performance and ideal swingweight in the air. This soft flexing ski features a low profile tip and tail and dedicated butter zones that encourage stylie presses on jumps and rails. With just 150 pair of the Line Limited Edition Octoland Anthem Ski per size in existence, these rare skis won’t last long.

Bottom Line: Grab a pair of these limited edition skis so your boards you ride can be as unique as the way you ride.

the truth about the octolands

By:
May 23, 2009

sorry tabyrs but you are very incorrect. the octoland is the same anthem as the 06-07 model with a new topsheet. the spirals and octolands were both given a new topsheet because the 06-07 top graphic looked like the drummer from kiss so line was sued and forced to not sell them. very few people have this ski. line was simply trying to recoop its losses. the only difference between this and the 08(wolf model) and 09(purple 80's) is the fact that this ski does not have a carbon ollieband. the result is a ski that is slightly softer and easier to butter. there is a bsolutely nothing wrong with this ski while it is an old copy the ski is perfect and has a sick pollard topsheet. get these you wont be dissapointed.

Hey guys,Im getting a new pair of skis pretty soon here but idk

Hey guys,Im getting a new pair of skis pretty soon here but idk what to get. I basically like to ski everything that my east coast mountain has to offer. Basically for right now its either the anthems or chronics. I know the chronics are stiff, but are they still able to butter decently well? Im about 5'11 195lbs and i need some help.

Ok, I'm the perfect guy to answer your question, because I ride anthems, and my bro rides chronics... pretty crazy huh. I really like my anthems, and my bro really likes his chronics. Both pairs are mounted at dead center, but he can still butter a little on his skis. If you've seen how Garrett Russell does Nose Blocks (http://www.vimeo.com/2566605) he can still do that on his chronics... so they aren't THAT stiff. I really think you'd really like either of them, but I'm not sure you need the added width of the anthem. We have tons of pow in Utah, so I didn't wanna go any skinnier than my 93 waist. In your case, you could easily like either one. Make sure you get the right size though. Them seem to run big in my opinion... I was gonna get 178 anthems, but they were HUGE, the 171's come up past my forehead, and I'm 5'9". You'd probably be good on a center mounted 178.

Better looking Anthem

By:
January 2, 2009

MrDalton has no idea what he is talking about. The anthem was a brand new ski for last year, and wasn't around in 2006. What he is referring to is the same design on the base a previous generation of invaders. These skis are super fun and jibby. Great park ski, completely symmetrical and a nice wide platform. Plus you get the bonus of Eric Pollard's sick artwork. This ski is sick. Same guts as the Anthem, but with one of coolest topsheets around. Way to go Line.

anthems are soft like invaders, they are designed as a wider park ski but will ski all mountain well as long as the snow is softer. There a little soft for icey conditions. They have a ton of pop and are a very fun ski. If your light they would even float you in powder. They are center mounted so don't be afraid to ski them long.

Just to clarify

By:
January 9, 2009

Just to clarify...

There was an anthem for the 2006/07 season but it was not produced in mass quantities. These new limited edition anthems (the spiral and the octoland)share those bases, but they are NOT the same ski as the 06/07 anthems. The 06/07 Anthems had a poplar core. The redesigned anthem in 07/08 (even though Line claims its a completely new ski) has a maple core. The 08/09 Anthems (Spiral and Octoland as well) also have a maple core. What that means is that they are slightly different skis and will ski a little bit differently. Even though the bases are the same, the core or the guts of the ski are different. It has a stiffer more durable core, the same base, and as Mr. Dalton said...a SICK graphic.

Whats up with that

By:

These "limited editon Skis" are really jsut the 2006 model with a new top sheet. The ski itself hasnt changed a bit so i guess its all cool but still... I find it kind of sneaky that a company would sell u its leftovers as new and make you pay more 4 them. like i guess that uve got 2 get rid of them but it jsut doesnt taste right. I want fresh veggies line.
