Life-Link Slopemeter - 2007

The Life-Link Slopemeter is a useful tool to measure slope angle in steep terrain. The shaded area shows the angle at which avalanches are likely to occur. On the back is a Slopemeter topograph that allows you to determine slope angles from map contours. This is a sophisticated, inexpensive tool, and you will find it SUPER handy.

Bottom Line: Don't forget, 38º is extra scary.

Como todos los productos Life Link, este producto constituye una exclente herramienta de uso indispensable en el backcountry. Sencilla de usar, muy resistente y cómoda para ser guardada en la mochila o en el bolsillo de la chaqueta. 100% recomendable.

Must have

A slope meter is a very important tool for the backcountry skier. Amazing how easy it is to mis-judge the slope angle. This is the gold standard in slopemeters, and it also has a conversion chart on the back to measure slope angle on topo maps. Also serves as a good base scraper in a pinch!

Perfect

The Slope Meter is the perfect piece of gear...well made, simple and apparently indestructible. It is my sincere hope that the SAR folks never find it in my fanny pack.

Cheap Insurance that will blow your mind

A thirty degree slope is steeper than most realize. Finding an objectively safe route is always best, and this is the best money you've ever spent on avy gear. Buy this BEFORE your first shovel, probe and pole. A must have!
