Step onto the Lib Tech NAS Pow Alpine Ski and drop the bomb on that freshly-veiled pow line. This chubby twintip charges the deeps and keeps you cruising the groomers thanks to Lib Tech's hard-carving Magne-Traction technology. With its giant 149mm shovel and can't-sink-it 117mm underfoot, the Narrow Ass Snowboard Pow drops cliffs without leaving you stuck in your own crater. This big floater stays lively despite its girth thanks to its quasi-isotropic fiberglass layer, which brings pop and a little added power to your powder feasts. Lib Tech's Anvi-Tech dampening layer cures the shakes at high speeds, keeping the NAS Pow Alpine Ski solid and stable when you put the pedal to the metal on big open lines. When it's time to get back to the lift, the wavy Magne-Traction edges hold firmly and carve hard through packed and icy snow, so you can get back to the lift line for another go without floundering on the flats.
Bottom Line: The not-so-narrow Lib Tech Narrow Ass Snowboard Ski ponies up when the clouds pound it out.
All-Snow... I'm riding 184 TeleDaddies right now. After hopping on a friend's Fat Loves and having the best ski of my three year career, think I figured out that the Atomics are too stiff for me... on anything other than wide-open pow & groomers, I always feel like I'm fighting them. I TOUR mostly in the Canadian Rockies, riding Scapra Skookums (110 flex) and Freeride +. While we occasionally get some big pow, reality is that it's always a mixed bag, from death crust to mashed potatoes. So I'm looking for something fun & easy to turn, yet able to bust crud & hold a steep line. Contemplating the following: NAS Pow, NAS Recurve, Bacon, obSETHed, Katana, S6. What would you do? Thanks - Jeff
When, I first saw these skis I did not know what to think. I still have not seen another pair in the mts. My liitle bro is a snowboarder, and he would not shut up about magna-traction. So I took the the $800 plunge. Over the years I have skied on alot of skis, and these hands down are the sickest muthas of them all. As fat as they are they are obviously the love in the deep, but when I hit the groomer for the first time I felt like I was on a GS ski. I have them mounted up tele, and they rip. let me tell you Lib Tech is going to become a major player in the ski industry. I would definatly recommend these boards for all chargers.
Definitely a more carvey feel. I have tried 2 sets of the exact same ski, one mounted 2.5cm more forward than the other, and it was an unreal difference. I also ski a center mounted ski this year as my everyday ski, and to carve, you don't even need to lean forwards into your boot to make it carve. I just put my weight on my inside edge, and away I go. This happens because your weight is already forward from the center mount. The only down side, is that you have to adapt your skiing to the longer tails, so in powder you have to lean back more, and sometimes they catch on moguls and stuff. But I'm used to it, and I'll never go back to a traditional stance.
Just got a set, and they rule. How many times will snowboard companies save the ski industry...i think this in number three for lib-tech. Awesome product, highly recommend it, and with the big sidecut they work in all conditions.
Use the Marker Jesters. They have a nice wide base to transfer your power to the ski more efficiently than a binding with a narrower base, like the Salomon STH 16. You will have to buy an aftermarket wide brake to fit the POWs, it looks like the ski is kinda in between the wide brake measurements though. Marker has a 110mm brake and a 132mm brake so you would have to go with the 132mm more than likely because the POW is 117mm under foot. Another good thing about the Jesters is that they have a burly 16 din spring so the ski won't come flyin' off without some serious force, if at all! Jesters are kinda pricey once you add in the brake, but they are 100% worth it, I guess that if you are buying $900 skis that it might not be a problem!
