Leatherman Fuse Multi-Tool - 2009

How big is your toolbox? The Leatherman Fuse Multi-tool gives you a toolbox worth of functionality in a 4-inch long package. The Fuse Incorporates a molded ergonomic grip that's easier on your fingers than the more common hard metal edges found on most multi-tools. Made from 100% stainless steel, it's incredibly durable (which is important) and incredibly shiny (which isn't, but does look cool.) The Fuse's tools lock back sturdily for safety with a powerful but easy to operate locking system. A bevy of screwdrivers, a selection of cutters and the all important bottle opener (in case things are going really badly) make the Fuse a versatile Multi-tool for folks on the move who don't want to tow a 300-pound toolbox around.

Bottom Line: Now if only your tools combined to form a giant robot-

Everyday multi-tool

By:
December 29, 2008

I got the Fuse as a gift while working for the National Park Service. I carry it at all times, and find uses for it everyday. It doesn't have a wide assortment of tools, but it has the most common ones needed. I did manage to bend the flat head screw driver the first time I used it, but I was using it on something that truly needed a full size screwdriver in terms of strength. The knife is super sharp and the pliers are very handy. I don't use the case it came with since I don't often wear a belt. I normally just throw it in the pocket of the jacket I'm wearing. It's a practical multi-tool with lots of every day uses. It seems pretty solid and I'll probably even take it backpacking with me and see how I like it.
