Lafuma Trek Jr. Sleeping Bag: 30 Degree Synthetic - Kids'

Lafuma put Warmloft 3D synthetic insulation inside the Trek Jr. 30-degree sleeping bag, so kids have a place to bed down when the camping weather hasn't been kind. Camping in wet weather isn't the best, and it's even worse if your sleeping bag loses its loft. Kids are even more prone to wet gear, because they don't get all technical about staying dry like we do. Thus, Lafuma made the Trek Jr., with 30-degree warmth and lightweight synthetic insulation that stays warm even when the occupant is soaked.

Bottom Line: Door #1—cold, unhappy kid. Door #2—warm, happy kid with Lafuma Trek Jr...We'll take door number 2.

Great for Small Adults Too!

By:
September 30, 2008

I'll admit, I'm a grown-up. I'm a five foot tall 30-year old woman, well-proportioned (not model skinny) and muscular. Not only do I fit into this perfectly (with room at the feet wiggle, and turn over (carefully), but I LOVE this bag. I'm pretty sure the coldest I've been in has been around 40 degrees and I've always been very comfortable. These have been in early Spring in the upper reaches of the U.S. (BWCA in Minnesota and upper reaches of Lake Champlain). In all cases, I've been in just a "regular" (not super fancy/insulated) tent and on islands with lots of breezes. The fabric is breathable (so you don't wake up all sweaty), and I love the small pocket by the head for little items. The bag easily pulls closed without snags and then velcros shut for a comfy and snug (but not too snug) fit. There are also loops at the bottom to attach to your sleeping pad so you don't slide or wiggle all over the tent. And it all fits into a stuff sack that fits in the sleeping bag compartment of my pack with tons of room to shove other stuff around it. Given how much I love this bag, and it's low cost at purchase time, it's unlikely that I'll buy a "grown-up" sleeping bag unless I decide to do some extreme camping.

Keeps Kids Kozy

By:

This bag was perfect for the 40 degree nights we had on our campout. My daughter is about 4'3" and she had plenty of room. It kept her warm but did not overheat her, and we did not even use the mummy hood which would have added additional warmth if things got colder. Zippers worked well and it packs up really small and light (so she can haul it herself!). I expect we'll get alot of use out of it over the next few years.

Does this come stored in a backpack-type sack? A friend told me about a LaFuma backpack sleeping bag...

no, it's just a small sack, kind of like a compression sack.It is not a compression sack but a stuff sack. It has a strap on it to carry over your shoulder which is uncommon, but I would not want to carry it that way for long.It carries better in a backpack.

Perfect for the little ones

By: Backcountry.com Employee

I got this for my daughter who is almost 3 feet tall (3 years old) and expect her to use it for a long time. There was no problem with her on one cold windy night and the construction is pretty dang strong for 44 bones! The fabric next to the fabric is pretty tough and hardly ever gets caught up in the zipper. I think this will last her a long time.

Bag comes with a stuff sack that is fine, but I can slap this in an event compression sack to keep it dry with other gear and I have no worries.
