La Sportiva Ganda Approach Shoe - Men's - 2009

The slip-lasted La Sportiva Men’s Ganda Approach Shoe uses a low-profile design to increase performance on 3rd and 4th class terrain below the steeper stuff. A pointed toe helps you get into aiders when you’re hooking your way up some A4, and sticky Vibram Dot Rubber keeps you glued to smears when you have to make a 5.8 move a few hundred feet above the deck.

Bottom Line: For the approach—and sometimes the climb.

My Miura's will be spending a lot more time in my pack

By:

OK, they're a bit pricey, but they're worth every penny. These things are a mutation of a low-cut mountaineering boot crafted in the footprint of a hiking shoe that eats rock for breakfast like a climbing shoe.

The dimple pattern was initially a bit squishy, but after some mental adjustment & a good scuffing, I found myself comfortably climbing 5.8 slab/face/cracks without having to strap on my Miura's.

Scrambling up & down steep approach gullys and walk-offs in Linville Gorge, NC, just got a whole lot easier and faster!

I wear a size 10 shoe, 43.5 Nepal, 41.5 Miura, and a 42.5 Gandalf. La Sportiva's fit my narrow feet very nicely.
