La Sportiva B5 Approach Shoe - Men's - 2007

The highly technical La Sportiva B5 Men's Approach Shoes take on multi-mile approaches, easy rock climbing, and burly descents with amazing ease. Their wrap-around rubber rand and edging platform provides solid face climbing performance while a low-profile toe fits well in hand-size cracks. La Sportiva uses sticky FriXion rubber to increase the B5 Shoes' climbing ability and an aggressive I.B.S. tread pattern for better hiking performance. They also added an all-leather upper to take the abuse that long days on the trials and rocks dish out on a pair of shoes.

Bottom Line: La Sportiva bridges the gap between hiking shoes and climbing shoes with the B5 Approach Shoes.

Delam, but otherwise ok

I had a piece of the sole delam after a few weeks of intensive use. Otherwise the shoe is holding up. Specifically used it as my approach and aiding shoe when bolting and cleaning new routes in VT. After the initial delam of a part of the sole/"grip" traction thingy, the shoe has held together.

Great shoe to approach and climb in, save the fact that the sole became delaminated after one ride on "Cat in the Hat" out at Red Rocks. Hopefully La Sportiva corrects this problem in the future.
