Line Prophet 130 Alpine Ski - 2009

The Line Prophet 130 Alpine Ski is your steed of choice for big lines, deep pow, and huge cliffs. This 130mm-waisted ski floats the big white, and unlike reverse-camber skis, it won't give you piss-poor performance on the occasional hardpack. The contact-with-snow points start earlier in the tip and tail so the Prophet 130 rises out of the pow and there's less tail drag and hooking in back. Line's P-Cut geometry makes for effortless turn initiation and sweet edge hold. A freeride-specific flex gets stiffer from tip to tail which creates awesome float in the shovel and burly strength underfoot and at the tail for powering through the deeps.

Bottom Line: Super fat for big-mountain pow lines.

I used to ski when I was little then Snowboarded for about 15 years. I've since then switched back to skiing for the last 4 seasons. I first bought the K2 Seth's and enjoyed my comeback however I when I took my buddy's prophet 130's out for a few runs I was in love. I alway's loved snowboarding because you'll never beat snowboarding in Powder with skis however I found these ski's the next closest thing. These skis ride very nice, they don't have a lot of side cut but you can easily ski the resort with them. This is my only pair and I do everything with them, tour, resort, groomers etc. I put a pair of new Fritschi's on them (AT Touring bindings) and they have stayed solid. I get a lot of comments about weight with touring but hey, it's all about the quality of the ride on the way down. I may hike a little less but you will probably hear a few extra woo hoo's from me on my way down at a slightly higher pitch. Bottom line is that they are very easy to manuver, ski with and the reward on them in the Powder out weights it all. I have no need to change my ski's for a long time.

The Rossi S7 is a super pow ski, floats tons, and handles hardpack better than you would expect looking at it. The Megawatt is probably the least 'playful' of this bunch. The Line is a super floater, and it's pretty freakin' playful. The SFB might be an even more versatile and playful ski, still with a stiff, un-noodle like flex.

I just don't like the feel of these bad boys, they are a little to soft and they put to much torque on my ankles. about 115 is my limit under foot

I am about to mount my Line Prophet 100's with a new pair

I am about to mount my Line Prophet 100's with a new pair of Fritschi Diamir Freeride bindings. My Prophets are 186. I am 5'11" weigh 165 and ski very aggressively (but also hope I didnt get skis that are too big for me). I chose this set up because I often ski switch, hit lots of jumps and drops, like to ski steeps, and may eventually use this as a touring set up. My question is: Where should I mount this set up? Ideas?

From what you say you do i would set them up at about 2cm back from center. Thats a pretty neutral area for a solid freeride set up and you still have a lot of tail side for some switch riding and stuff.
