We're stoked that Line's pushing the limits of how fat a fat ski can be with the 110mm-waisted Elizabeth and 130mm-waisted Prophet 130. But c'mon, how reasonable is it to ski those monsters all day every day? For most of us, it's not reasonable at all, and that's why Line added the Prophet 100 Alpine Ski to their line-up. We're talkin' big-mountain ripping on a daily basis here. The Prophet 100 features a super tough Metal Matrix construction, which wraps titanium over the maple Macroblock wood core, for increased power and edge control. Line's fatty base and edge material extends the life of the Prophet 100 as you skim over rocks and stumps and huck your stuff. The Quickmount Six Pack gives you two mounting positions for your Reactor bindings.
Bottom Line: We foresee big-mountain domination when you step onto the Prophet.
I purchased the Prophet 100 last month for a great deal for the 179s. I skied them in Utah at the Canyons and Snow Basin. I also demo the Volkl Mantras. Both skis have a similar feel, I got the Prophets because they were cheaper than I could find the Volkls. I like the 179 length for getting around in the glades. Still a very stable ski that busted through crude and floated in 15 of fresh powder. On the groomed, turned them on edge, and they preformed smooth GS turns. Ive been skiing for over 20 years in the east and just started to ski the west. These skis have made that transition very enjoyable.
Incredible, romping, kick-ass, versatile Fat that can lay down GS arcs as well as float fast and furious lines down Blackcomb Glacier. Totally stoked how well they smashed over the tops of soft deep mogul fields and devastated deep, steep cut up pow bumps.
This is a great ski. Its softer than I expected given the construction. This ski does everything I want from a fat ski: great float, stable platform for landing, lays down a decent edge on anything that's not bulletproof and is maneuverable enough for trees and tight spots. And that's in the 186cm. I'm giving it five stars even though it doesn't blast through heavy crud as well as I'd like (at least in comparison to my Volkl V Explosives).
Skis are made in China, and reflect a poor quality of finishing. The edges are not smooth, and show grinder marks. The bases had p-tex hairs hanging off. I went with Line for the removable bindings (which kick ass) and I do like how these perform. The flex is nice, and the width is great for most conditions. The cap looks like it is already to delaminate along tips and tails of ski. The design is killer, but the finished product leaves something to be desired.
I got the Prophet 100's in the 172cm length and skied them on about 12 inches of powder at Alta...Great! :)
They float well, but are still similar to an all-mountain ski on the groomers back to the chair. I have 80mm wide Assassin Pro MTX, which have the same titanium reinforcement layer, this makes the Prophet 100 stiffer than I expected, but this functions well. I like the stiffness when out of the powder. Ski is still all mountain enough in performance for me to keep them on when not in deep powder.
I have three pairs of Lines now, and am making good use of the Rector binding, which is very easy to switch between ski's, don't forget to buy some fatty brakes to fit this super wide ski.
I happened to ride up the Alta lift with someone who had the Prophet 130's, which only make sense in deep powder. If you want a great powder ski that is still manageable on non-powder days, the 100's are the way to go.
I have been skiing on 175cm Pocket Rockets for 3-4 seasons now and just purchased these 100s in a 186CM. Skied them last weekend in Austria in 1-3 feet of fresh depending where I was on the resort, and they rocked even in the trees and steeps. I was amazed! They require more effort but they are much more stable and predictable in deeper powder, trees and steeps. I am 160 pounds but have been skiing for 25 years.
I just got the Prophet 100 in the 179cm length. I used it at Breckenridge, CO, and all I have to say is wow, this ski is unreal. I had the Line Mothership in the 182cm length, and this ski is everything that was, and more. It may not feel stiff to the touch, but it skis big, and it skis stiff. I had 12 inches of windblown pow, and this blasted through it like it was freshly groomed, I am extremely happy, and buy the prophet 100!
