LEKI Super Makalu Cor-Tec PA - 1 Pair - 2007

The Super Makalu Cor-Tec PA Antishock Trekking Poles take an enlightened approach to wandering. Developed with Leki's vast experience, a set of Super Makalu poles are a lightweight companion suited for high-speed treks at elevation. A Positive Angle grip works like a ski-racing pole to ensure positive pole-plants on tricky terrain. The combination of cork hand grips and a spring loaded shock-absorbing system keeps the road less traveled under your feet and away from your hands. Rugged ground is easily tamed by the Carbide Flextips and high-strength aluminum construction. Quick adjustments in length match trekker to terrain for the feeling of four-wheel drive over mountain passes and cobblestone streets.

Bottom Line: From Kalamazoo to Katmandhu you can't go wrong with the Super Makalu.

I bought these purely out of curiosity. A friend once told me, don't spend money on cheap stuff, because every time you upgrade, you'll pile of useless crap will grow, and so will money wasted on the "useless crap." I took the Super Makalu's on a 30 mile trek throughout RMNP. They are awesome on all terrain. They adjust to fit anyone's height. The grips are great, even when wet. On steep downhill switchbacks over loose terrain, they saved me a few time's from losing my foothold. I'd definitely recommend these. It's a well spent $140 and change. For those who haven't used trekking poles before don't waste the money on junk, these lightweight, strong, and comfortable poles are worth it.
