LEKI Diva Aergon Antishock Trekking Poles - 1 Pair - Women's

The animal kingdom is proof: four legs are more stable than two, and faster on uneven surfaces. The LEKI Diva AERGON Antishock Trekking Poles dramatically improve your hiking experience in any terrain by adding two more points of contact to distribute pack weight and stabilize you on inclines.

  • Positive-angled AERGON grips place the tip in front of your hand, for faster, more natural pole plants
  • Antishock Lite suspension system absorbs shocks to reduce joint stress and grip fatigue over long distances
  • New cork AERGON grips reduce weight, absorb sweat and remain cool in hot weather

Bottom Line: Trek like an animal.

Two questions about the grips--are these actually cork as the descrption specifically states? Because the picture sure looks like foam. Also I just want to confirm as these are referred to as women's trekking poles that the grips are in fact smaller than standard trekking poles.

Third question: It seems like many complain about the twist-lock method of extension in general. Has anyone NOT had problems with this system?

Andrew,

These are not cork grips... the description is wrong. I don't have this specific set of poles, but I have a very similar model of LEKI trekking poles. I cannot confirm if the the grips are smaller than standard trekking poles.

What I can tell you is that my poles have the twist-lock method. Every now and then, maybe once a hike, the twist-lock comes 'un-twisted' so you have to reset the locks. But other than that small complaint, I am in love with the twist lock method. Super easy to use, and very easy to reset the poles to a different height depending on the uphill/downhill terrain.

Here is a picture of the grips and locking system on my trekking poles. Hope it helps!

PS Here are the poles that I own: http://www.backcountry.com/outdoorgear/LEK0081/LEKI-Carbonlite-Aergon-Antishock-Trekking-Poles-1-Pair.html

Andrew,
I don't have these poles specifically, but another pair from the series, so I'm going based on that and Leki's specs on this pole compared to the one I have.

I don't think the grips are cork. The Leki website certainly doesn't mention it, and this pole seems to come in two versions (Black and Sahara), which are different colors and have different looking grips. The black looks like foam, and I don't remember them being cork from when I was shopping. The Sahara looks like it might be cork.

I can't really comment on the size of the grip, except that it's supposed to be "a grip designed to fit smaller hands".

I haven't had a problem with the Super Lock system on my Leki poles. I did with a different brand of poles and somewhat different locking system (still a twist lock, but a lot more twisting and a lot more force). Having said that, I haven't had them for years and years, so I don't know how the performance over time is going to be. No problems yet though.

Hope that helps a bit...sorry I couldn't answer all the questions that well.
