LEKI Devine Aergon XL Antishock Trekking Poles - 1 Pair - Women's

LEKI is the master of the trekking pole, and the Devine AERGON XL Antishock is proof. With LEKI’s signature positive-angle AERGON grip (the first grip designed specifically for trekking), the Devine places the pole tip out further in front of you, making your pole plants feel more natural and easing stress on your wrist.

  • Super Lock System requires minimal force to activate, yet holds 140kg when locked
  • Soft Antishock Lite System absorbs pole shock to reduce joint stress and grip fatigue
  • AERGON XL grip for larger hands

Bottom Line: Add suspension and stability to your next hike.

Anyone have a pair of these Devines (XL or normal) or any other

Anyone have a pair of these Devines (XL or normal) or any other Leki that can comment on the antishock suspension and whether or not having it always be on is a good thing? Or if you notice a noise when they're springing? I was asking out on a backpacker website and I think I ran into a bunch of "light is right" duders who just hated the idea of the antishock and so couldn't comment on any positives of it.

To answer my own question in case anyone else was wondering the same thing--I leaned on them with my 185 pounds, bounced them a bunch on the ground and didn't hear much sound in terms of the antishock activating. Certainly no more than a person would make moving through the backcountry anyway--we're not exactly ninjas. And as to weight, if these things are "heavy" because of the antishock I have no idea what light would be. They seem quite lightweight to me. OH and the travel isn't ridiculously deep so it doesn't seem to make things unstable. If it was big travel say 2" and soft I could see it being an issue, but it's about 1" and somewhat firm.
