The Lafuma Warm'n Light 800 Sleeping Bag is the lightweight, super-compact 30-degree-rated companion you want when you're traveling in cool to mild temperatures. Anything lighter and you're in full summer territory, anything heavier and you'll be sweating both in your tent and on the uphill due to added bulk. The wispy Tactel lining feels great against your skin, while the light ripstop shell repels water and resists abrasion without weighing you down when compressed. A small accessory pocket hides an alarm or keychain light for midnight nature calls.
Bottom Line: Don't carry more bag than you need—bring the Lafuma Warm'n Light 800.
On the plus side, this bag is (relatively) inexpensive, light, and very packable. One the minus side, the 30 degree rating is a extremely optimistic; I think I'd be comfortable down to about 50 degrees in this bag. Holding the bag up to the light reveals that the down insulation is not very evenly distributed. The cut of the bag is slim and the foot box is too small for my tastes. I'll be shopping for a better 3-season backpacking bag.
Very lightweight and packable, great price for down. Used in weather down to 45 degrees and was very confortable, with a good pad and right clothing it might make it to 30.
i thought this bag was pretty good. i used it while backpacking in about 30 degree weather. it was a litle chilly, but i was still able to sleep through it. it felt perfict in 40 degree weather
Bought this as a second bag that my wife could use. Was trying to keep the cost down due to all the S&C.com purchases. Grabbed this at a great price and worth every penny. When I removed it from the stuff sack it did feel a little weak and thin. I threw it in the front loader on air only for 15mins and then layed it out on the bed. Came back after work and it felt much better. Was rather warm and I feel for me it would meet the 30degree rating.
Most manufactures figure you will wear a light long sleeve shirt and pantlayer while in the bag to obtain heat ratings. Direct wind and lack of sleeping pad will also affect any bags ability to keep you warm. Last not all people sleep at the same temps, I am a warm sleeper and feel this bag will keep me plenty warm based off of the trial runs I have given it so far.
Great value and compresses well. Would of been nice to have a storage sack other then the stuff sack for when not hiking with it to keep the loft going strong over the years. But for the price (under retail) I love it.
This thing is MICRO! packs down to nothing and weighs about the same. I have used this thing outside on its own during spring and summer months out west and it does a decent job of keeping you warm down to about 45. You get what you pay for, and I couldn't ask for anything more from this ultralight summer bag.
This bag (and in fact most Lafuma bags that I've seen) are way off on their temperature ratings. Compared this to other brands with an established reputation and you'll notice that the Lafuma is seriously under-filled.
With a nice silk liner I was comfortable down to 20 in this bag. It is tight at the feet, but you don't have to carry the extra weight all day. Highly recommended for someone who is looking for a reasonably priced, lite weight, 3 (4 if you are in the south) season bag. Good work Lafuma!
